Title: Starcom Installation
Post by: Brian on December 21, 2015, 05:14:02 PM
I've the Starcom Advanced system left over from my first ST1300 which was originally from the bmw R1100rt. When I transferred it over to the grey ghoST I vaguely remember it was an easy enough task ( or has the years clouded my memory).
I remember securing the 'box' down the back and I think I picked up a power source from the tail light .....my question from the brains trust that is OzSToc is.... What colour wire would that have been and or if someone else has done the install in an easier way.
I think last time I removed much of the fairing on one side to route the wires.
Cheers Brian

Brian,
I guess it depends on the model. I have a Starcom Digital and it has a small plug/socket which has a red and black wire - so pretty simple.
I would however make sure the power is routed through a relay and a fuse regardless of the source.
Not sure if yours is the same but with mine the power can be constant as unless there is a headset plugged in the unit will not power up.
A.

Now the fun part ....... Putting all this Tupperware back on.... Seems I have more patience (patients) then a Hollywood plastic surgeon .....

Were you using Diesel's template for identifying which fastener goes where?

I've done this so many times I've got the 'it goes there' committed to memory :-)
