Title: Rostra CC fine tuning
Post by: curious1 on December 25, 2015, 02:45:41 PM
As I have completed my Rostra CC install I am still looking how to refine the operation. With practice runs and changing setting between I have come to the conclusion that the closer you get the pulses from the ST to match the expected pulses by the Rostra CC the finer the operation.
Jaycar has a speed corrector for Speedo's which I have checked out and has great division capability. At the moment I use a divide by 4 electronic interface which gets me close to what I want but not 100%. I will report on the outcome with the speed corrector.

The speed corrector from Jaycar is necessary and will bring you into the pulse range for the Rostra. However, I spent some years trying to resolve the sensitivity issue. This was fixed by halving the mechanical operation of the throttle. Now I have a cruise control that will operate from 60KMPH upwards with no 'hunting' no matter what the load is. Can give further details if needed.

Yes please, I am just about to install my Rostra unit. Any info, particularly throttle connection and sensor pickup would be appreciated.

Finally got the Rostra CC installed and operational. It took me way... longer than expected while I made up the throttle connections and even the wiring got complicated until I drew my own circuit layout instead of interpreting others on the fly.
Thanks heaps to Tremarg for helping me sort out the tuning issue with the system, it now works a treat and I'm looking forward to a long ride (aka Perth NR) to really appreciate it. I still have a couple of minor attributes to sort out but they aren't critical to the operation.
