had some discussion recently about how to count chooks on farm, as they are being loaded. thought about heat sensor, too close together. thought about weight but the weight per individual varies too much. RFID? any thoughts???

Approximately how many chooks are we talking and how often are you going to play the chook counting game?
Is this for meat processing or commercial egg layers or .......
Are you trying to ensure you receive the correct amount of chooks or are you trying to prove your delivery of a certain amount of chooks?
Can you change the unit of measurement from price per chook to price per (live) weight in kilos?

I should have thought of that oldie. It was one of Dad's favorites when counting cattle. Legs/4. :grin

typical chook shed, huge thing with red ribbon or computer discs hanging down to stop the inmates getting bored.
