This morning I lost the LH pannier (Charcoal grey) On the Sturt highway west of Truro SA. A passing motorist was seen to stop and pick it up. It has a gold Ulysses badge on the back. I've reported it to the Police.
Any suggestions as to how I can spread the word and hopefully recover it - we're off to Tassie in a couple of weeks so it's a bit of a panic. Maybe I'll be looking for a SH one.

I'd check with Ulysses HQ

Perhaps post on the Ulysses Forum, and ring the nearest police station in the direction that the motorist was travelling. That would probably Truro or Nuriootpa.
If you don't look like getting it back, you may be able to borrow one for the duration of your holiday from an SA OzSTOC member.

Sorry. I lost one the same way, but it was still in the ditch when I went back to get it.
A word to everyone- you can't lose an ST1300 pannier if it is engaged in this notch at the front bottom and at the key lock.

I hope someone hands it in and if they do I also hope the damage from the road impact and tumble isn't too bad.
Similar thing happened to me in Sarina, QLD. I didn't secure the pannier frame latch properly and the pannier departed over a rough section of road. Every surface of the pannier had serious road rash. At the time I couldn't find a used pannier so I had to make my first insurance claim to replace it.
I think all the replacement parts cost about $1600 and the lock internals, pannier case handle were salvaged and reused. Excess was $400 on top.....so just preparing you for the worst case scenario!
