Unfortunately due to the progression of my cancer I can no longer support the weight of my ST1300. As such I very reluctantly offer it for sale.
Mileage is 93300, but this bike has been used only for touring - not commuting. It is in very good condition (excellent for year and mileage). Has always been serviced using only Honda OEM parts and lubricants.
It has many desirable options added to it (see full list at bikesales.com) and has an agreed value insurance with Swann for $18,000.
It is quite possibly the best value ST for sale at the moment.
Full details are on bikesales.com

Our last ride in March was 3,500km over 3 weeks and that was when the decision was made that I could no longer safely handle the bike at low speeds.
For a genuine buyer from OzSToc I am willing to be a little flexible on price as I want this machine to go to someone who will appreciate it and use it as we have and intended to for the next few years.
Give me a call (leave a message if necessary) to discuss further.

Sorry to hear that health issues are catching up and will prevent you from riding your ST. I might have to head up to Nuri for a ride and impose upon your hospitality for a cuppa and a chat. PM sent.
-
I sincerely wish I had the denarius to purchase and give a new home to that sweet looking machine.
Bugger to hear the cancer has made itself at home and is now impacting your riding.
Best of wishes to your future sale and also your ongoing life.
-
Thank you for your thoughts . At least I have a lot of great memories from the trips we had on the ST. Have a dream left which is to ride again, maybe not far, but I am trying to build my strength so that when I sell the ST I can buy a small bike and feel the freedom at least a couple more times. All I can say is your life can change in an instant so do what you enjoy most as often as you can whilst you are able.
-
Sad to hear you can no longer ride the ST. Sad to heat cancer is the cause.
Might I suggest a Can-Am Spyder RT as an alternative. No need to hold it up and dependent on age available in a 990 twin or 1300 triple.
-
Have thought about the Spider and talked to many happy owners, but not really my style. Cosidering a Ducati Scrambler or an Aprilia Shiver GT 750 at this stage. Both low and light. Started my fitness program yesterday, need to work on that ans sell the the bike then hope I have time left to complete my goal. We don' expect to be able to do much more than half day rides out for a coffee.

I rode up to Nuriootpa this morning and had a cuppa and a wonderful chat with Steve and Vanessa. His bike is a well farkled gem, has been fastidiously maintained and would be a great buy for someone looking for a "ready to ride" long distance tourer with all the fruit.
-
Sorry to hear your news AussieBoy :-X I hope the bike sells quickly and you can move onto something more suitable for you :thumb
-
PRICE REDUCED - to allow me to achieve my final dream I have reduced the price by $2,000 to $10,500. Will still be willing to discuss with any OZSTOC member.
-
That is a hugely farkled bike at any money, and at $10,500 it's a gift. The improvements are worth that much money!
-
You are right Biggles, until I renewed recently it had an agreed replacement value of $18,000 with Swann Insurance. I reduced it on renewal realising it was just going to be siting in the garage until it found a new owner. I know I am going to take a blood bath selling it at this price, but time is not on my side if I am going to get to ride again.
-
Have you considered putting you bike on consignment in a prominent dealer, to get some wider exposure?
-
I am giving it some thought at the moment. Apparently it doesn't make much difference. A friend has had his bike on consignment for some time and the dealer just keeps saying that it is really quiet and people are selling bikes for very low amounts to get rid of them. Not a great time of year to have to sell. Seems like most Australians think you can't ride all year round.
-
If only. New car precludes a replacement bike.

It's a quarter (or less) than the price of the car. I'm sure it would fit in your garage. It would be easy to change the colour of the bike in your sig.

No room in the budget unfortunately, especially when management is talking outsourcing everything except air traffic controllers and fire fighters. :oldman

Aha- just like Telstra. They'll rehire you as a Contractor and you'll charge them double you current salary.
-
The ST is going thanks to reasonable trade in deal. To be replaced by the end of the week by a green Kawasaki 650 ABS with just a few mods. I have learnt my lesson - farkles are worthless unless you are using them.
Best thing is I get to do a little more riding and am I looking forward to it. Guess the Akrapovic exhaust is a bit of an excess, but I decided my last bike at least should sound like a bike!
Thanks to all those who have offered advise and good wishes.
I will keep an eye on this forum as there are so many great people here, who have been a real assistance over the last 6 years.
Regards,
Steve (Aussieboy)

Sounds great Steve :thumb
I'm glad something worked out
Enjoy your new ride ++
Send us some photos when you get it :like
-
So what did you let it go for?
-
$9,000 effectively. No one wanted it and I can't afford to wait around so just had to wear it. Think part of the problem is that new bikes are quite cheap and there is a definite change in direction of what people are riding. The move from Sports Tourers to Adventure Tourers is advanced and now it seems like the change to naked bikes is well advanced.
Guess if I could have waited until summer I would have done better, but I couldn't wait. The mileage is also a problem, seems anything with more than 30,000km is hard to shift.
If my original plan to run the wheels off the ST had worked out it wouldn't have mattered, but life don't always flow the way you want it to. I am hopeful of having a little more time and just having some fun on the new bike.
-
Were you able to defarkle some of the add ons to pick up a little extra from those here interested in dolling up their STeeds

"Dolling up"- strewth, that shows your age (and QLDer origins)!!
-
No kept them for the new bike - GPS etc which is why I said effectively $9000. The dealers really don't care about the farkles - just the base bike.
Admitted mine was showroom tidy, they will make money - I get to ride.
-
I'm pleased to hear that you've sold the ST and will be able to get some more riding done on the Kwaka. Perhaps we can pick a location and meet for a cuppa or lunch.
-
Sounds good Peter - will give you a call when it arrives and I am out and about. Got a few medical things to do early next week and one of the Ulysses guys is trying to organise to have the bike blessed with a couple of others on Wednesday - never done that before. Look forward to catching up soon.
-
Congrats on the new bike :hatwave
