A little over a week ago I flew down to Melbourne and caught a train to Traralgon to pick up a 2008 Red ST1300 to replace Ruby who had been traded in on a 2016 V-Strom which appeared at the Moree Anniversary FarRide. Since this was Ruby 2, and she was initiated on Tuesday, she had to be Ruby 2sday (ahem, thanks to Gadget for the idea, and apologies to the Rolling Stones). I was exceedingly fortunate in the timing of the trip, since a week of heavy rain had ended on the Monday. I rode up through the Black Spur where I encountered steady drizzle. I had been hoping to get to Benalla, but bailed at Mansfield.
Wednesday's ride through Victoria and southern NSW was in fine weather, but surrounded by evidence of the recent deluges. This picturesque setting in Urana was Ruby's first photo-shoot.

Just out of town we stopped to capture some evidence of the widespread flooding. Fortunately there was water over the road only in one place, and that about 15 cm deep.

My next target was Moree to add an element of FarRiding history to Ruby's life experience, however Narrabri was the furthest I could manage after a very full couple of days. From there is was a short run home on Thursday.
The conclusion to the story is Ruby 2 was set up as a FarWeapon as bought, with MC cruise control, heated grips, sheepskin seat cover and bar risers. I added a pair of 3864 lumin LED spots, Stebel air horn, my Tourtech GPS mount, tank cover (for tank bag) and highway pegs. She has racked up her first LD ride doing 1654 kays to the inaugural Oz IBA Muster in Parkes.

At the time of writing, she is in Tumut being introduced to the southern grandkids (I picked up wifey from Canberra airport and headed for Tumut- the SPOT quit before we got there).

Great write up. Sounds like you're thoroughly enjoying it.
I'd like to take credit for the naming, but only I can take credit for shortening its spelling. Someone else came up with Ruby Twosday. :thumbs

And the Rolling Stones?

I feel confident in declaring you will not be saying GOODBYE to Ruby 2's-day anytime in the foreseeable future.
The eye may wander resulting in brief two wheeled dalliances but common sense always prevails.
Ride her hard and put her away wet (and filthy) :grin

Darn- sorry! Operating from a laptop "on the road" means I don't find it as easy to do searches to get the facts right.
So all credit goes to Sabie for the naming rights.
