How many motor vehicles in your garage, asks tonight's Census.
EXCLUDE MOTORCYCLES!! :OldMan
So they don't deserve recognition in transport planning. :well
-
We still haven't got the form - Rang them on Friday and one in the mail.
Don't have a garage so have to say none.
-
Yep no form here either for half the town - The other half has got two copies each :well :crazy Wot thuh
-
Only one in the carport, the bike takes up the other spot.
They did the same thing last census

And I told them in the feedback the same thing last census. They just don't listen. There is a greater proportion of bikes to cars now than 5 years ago. (Don't ask me for my source- go look it up yourself!)

Just had a similar message and failing to connect. Does his mean we can charge the government for not allowing us to complete the form. How can expect the entire nation to go one website on one night and complete this.
-
I am not going to say it was 20 minutes and we were done. ..
-
I was thinking $180.00 a day until i get it dunnn
-
You got til Sept 24th to get it done so dont panic :thumb
-
Maybe we should do all the voting like this as well.

There's a lot of people would agree with you, me for one. It'd save a motza. Imagine all that paper the touts hand out at the election booths not being wasted. The printers would hate it!
But the results would be in a darn sight quicker.
-
Filled out the paper form a couple of weeks ago.... Guess I better go post it tomorrow... if the rain stops?
-
Dose that mean dad could say 14 bikes and 3 cars I'll tell mum for every 2 bikes add one car and the wings count them as cars

Tried for more than 3 hours last night from 8:20 pm, and again at 6:45 this morning, only to heat on ABC News 24 that the ABS took the website down at 7:30 pm.
They should have changed the front page as soon as. :oldman Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
My OCD was peaking badly. Thankfully we have until late September to compete it.
My cousin logged in, complete most, needed to check some questions, saved, came back and couldn't log in.
ABS are blaming hackers, but I suspect the Senior Public Service are using that as an excuse rather than admit they wasted $10 million+ with IBM and other IT companies.

I guess the ABS will be getting our taxpayers money back from the IT companies that told them that the Census Sytem can't be hacked, and could handle the load. :well :OldMan

:rofl. I have been blocked again, site busy. What a load of government wastage.
-
Apparently it was the Chinese brought it down out of spite for losing face at the Olympics by Horton's doping accusations.
Sounds about right.

Supposedly the website will be back up again some time on the 11th Aug.

The census definition of a motor vehicle includes motorbikes and trucks as well as cars, what a waste of an opportunity to easy gain a lot more useful information.
Just finished my census and I was surprised at how little information was collected.
-
I tried a few times today and have given up. I rang the number on the form they sent out and requested a paper copy. What a debacle, once the dust has settled watch them group together and sweep it under the carpet like it never happened. Guaranteed the only people whose heads will roll are those in the trenches who were retiring anyway, the Managers and permanent secretaries are all teflon coated.
-
I suspect the architect of the online census farce will get promoted to their next level of their incompetence... standard federal government bureaucratic followup to a f*ck up.
-
Done 2/3d of the filling in, Son can do the last 1/3d.
-
Just had a woman knocking on my door... claims that I had not returned my census form?
I told her to take it up with the post office, where it was mailed 3 weeks ago.
Not my fault that the post is so slow.

We still haven't got ours - rang yesterday for the 5th time and got told not worry it will get here. How hard is it to put a form in the mail and send it I asked on the fourth call. Though no form also means no fine for not filling it out either.

You have got proof of mailing, of course.

You wish. :grin

I had a (very attractive) woman knock on my door last Sunday telling me I hadn't put in my forms. I tried to tell her that I was at my daughters place in QLD that week and she listed me there. That wasn't going to cut it with her, so after some disscusion I went inside and found the blank form, stuffed it in the envelope and gave it to her.
Now I will be listed as being at two places on the night????? :grin
-
Proof of mailing? It was posted in the mail box at the Post Office... what proof is there of that? :OldMan

johnnyyted is sitting here waiting for a lovely young lady to knock on the door, to invite her in and keep as his housemaid for an eternity. or a least until the night before the next census.. . then throw her out so he dosent have to include her on his census form...
