Inspired by PC and NavGirl's clever helmet hooks which are on a bar under the top-box, I've fabricated by own. Thanks PC for the inspiration.
The helmet D-Rings hook over the tabs, and a lock can be fitted through the hole in the tab. It's neat, secure and convenient.

Awesome work mate, it looks very professional :thumbsup

It looks great. What a good idea.
Are you going to patent it and go into business???

I gather it needs loose padlocks for the holes. Since you've made such a professional looking bar and mount, why not have an integrated locking mechanism that is fixed and key operated? I'm sure Bunnings would have such a device- perhaps an adaptable window lock or somesuch. Saves having padlocks rattling around requiring locating and two-handed operation.
Got to admire the spacer tubes, precise bolt length and nylock nuts. :thumbs

There are a few locks on ebay that remind me of the Wing helmet locks. I plan on fitting something similar to the ST

Nice one Pete :-++
Helmet Lock, Aerial mounts, LED brake light mount are all variations on the design....
I can see a back yard business growing to a small business......to be floated on the stock exchange, and power boats on the French Riviera and dinner with the Trump family :nahnah
Cheers

Ruined it!!

Great job Pete.
Like ST2UP, I'd be expanding it to CB antenna mounts and LED stop/tail and indicators.

Thanks for the feedback. :thumb
The catalyst for making this was that Chris struggles to fasten her helmet strap around the pillion side grips, so I needed a conveniently accessible spot to put two helmets. I'm happy with the simple design, as I like my farkles to be functional with low visual impact on the overall appearance of the bike. However, with any MkII, I would consider the suggestion of incorporating a pair of lockable helmet hooks.

Pete you stirred me into action.
I have been thinking about the bar under my top box option for a while and have some lights ready for it so when I found these:-

I ordered 2 to go with the bar and lights.
When they arrived I had another look at how to mount them and thought this would be quicker than waiting for me to get round to making a bar.

Only slight disappointing thinking about them is that they are not keyed alike.
