Hi
I have had this ST1100 since new, current 13200km-- I have some great rides to Bright and Mt Buffallo , but that was years ago, Then it has sat in storage, enclosed.
Recently I saw a ST1100 riding around Anglers Rest, Vic, It brought back a desire to ride the bike again,
New fluids, Battery, Cleaned out the fuel pump- and then- well the carbs must be gummed up- the ride has to wait.
Anyway the warmer weather is coming and it shall be done.

Welcome Angelo,
Hope you manage to get the bike running soon. It can take a bit to get fuel back into the carbies after they have drained. It may be an idea to put some fuel system conditioner cleaner into the first couple of tanks full, just to help clean out any residue. After that, just keep riding.

Hi Angelo,
Welcome from Peterborough, SA.
As for the carbs and getting fuel to them; There's a fuel shut off valve which is operated by vacuum. It's all well and good while you have fuel in the carbs as there's more than enough to get the motor running to create the vacuum needed to open the fuel valve. Makes it a pain to get fuel to the carbs if they're dry.

G'day widetrax and welcome!
Hope you get the STeed running again soon.
A can of Start-ya-bastard can be good at getting old carby engines running again.
Cheers,

Great that you've been inspired to rescue the ST out of storage. I hope it was properly inhibited, because corrosion in the barrels is yet another bugbear. After overhaul, we used to inject a special oil into the intake while the engine was running until it just couldn't run any longer. I stored an XC Falcon like that for a year in Ballarat. When it started it poured smoke like the worst diesel for a good minute, but ran perfectly after that.

Dear Leo < wild Rose >
No, not yet
I have cleaned the pump, fuel gets to the carbys, But the left hand bank has fuel then flow from the front vent tubes upon the throttle been opened.
I have figured that the carbys have been blocked, floats may have locked up with gum,
I have not found anybody local to do the clean- I do not want a workshop learning on the job so to speak- I might have to have a go myself but would rather
have a person who has previously done the same work do this one.
regards
Angelo
