Only a couple of weekends away guys, please give this some consideration, last time, 2 years ago, we all had a great time sitting around the fire pit swapping yarns and downing a few fav beers etc, a great ride around the district with a great Pub lunch . . Join us, book accommodation at the caravan park, a cabin or a camping site. There will be opportunity to share a cabin as well . .

Hi we are newbies to the club.
Have had a previously loved st1300 since end of last year.
Latest in a very long line of Hondas.
We joined to make sure we don't just look at the gorgeous red Machine as we walk through the garage.
Thinking this weekend would be a nice introduction to the club.
Would welcome feedback.
Cheers
Mike & Jackye

Is there a plan for evening meal on the saturday or do we need to bring something along to cook? I can't  remember what we did last time

There will be a ride on on Sat, probably for lunch, and Sat night dinner will be camp oven dinner at caravan park as we did last time. If people would rather have lunch locally on Sat, then we can forgo the ride and have a pleasant social lunch at 2828 café in town.

Those arriving Friday,we will probably go to the bowlo for chinese.

Regretably I am going to have to pull out of this RTE because of some health issues.

I hope you all have a great time.

I have a cabin with two single beds booked which I will cancel on Friday morning if no one is interested in taking it.

Aus 351, when do you expect to arrive in town?

If afternoon, then probably won't be a ride, but camp oven dinner still on for Sat night at caravan park. I presume you all have your accommodation sorted.

Let me know if you need anything arranged at this end.

Good to see you guys too. I was thinking of doing a ride report but there would be too much to say. All i can say is we had incidences of a displaced exhaust, a kangaroo, numerous kms of dirt road (which is not fun on a scooter) and gravel finally taking the scooter down after surviving the dirt road. Everyone ok but the bikes and us had a full workout this weekend. I tell you you couldnt write our journey in a script  :fp

Ok here comes our journey.
Still being on Ls i wasnt 100% sure i was going to ride, it was a long journey and i haven't been out on the scooter much (being a nightshift worker you sleep all day) but thought well this would be a good chance to get experience.  So saturday morning we saddled up, running late because Ben finished work late Friday ande being a woman didn't pack until last minute.
We set off from Gosford around 1030am. Travelled up the M1 and into cessnock where we got morning tea. Obviously being speed reatricted meant i was a bit slower. We left cessnock and continued on the Golden highway. Stopped at Denman for fuel and carried on.
About another hr or so and the scooter got very loud, pulled over and the exhaust had become disloged and popped off. So an unexpected stop trying to get an extremely hot exhaust back into place.
We stopped in Dunedoo for a snack and by this time it was around 4pm. We left there and carried on to Gilgandra.  During this part of the ride it started getting dark and all of a sudden and Kangaroo jumped out of nowhere and went straight under the ST. Ben managed to keep the bike up and he was safe but the kangaroo had unfortunately not been so lucky. I carried on riding after making sure Ben and the bike were ok.
They caught me up we stopped in Gilgandra for fuel and finally arrived at galargambone approx 7pm.
We had a great time and the food was delicious.

The next day we started off with breakfast at the local cafe and stopped in at Grumpys for a chat and a farewell. We headed off and stopped in Dunedoo for tea un eventful.
We decided to head down the Bylong valley for a more scenic route home, last time we went this way 2 years ago it was beautiful. They had been tarmacing the road so we thought it would be fine 2 years on, we were wrong. Ended up going through quite a few kms of rough corrigated dirt road with which the scooter did not enjoy, but somehow taking it easy i managed to get through it to the praise of the lads. We carried on and were looking for a right turn which would take us back to Denman. We found what we thought was the correct turn and me looking ahead at the road didnt see the small patch of gravel sitting right at the turn as the back wheel slid and down the scooter went. I picked myself the scooter and my pride off the road. Few bruises this morning and a sore wrist but otherwise unscathed.
We carried on to find out that it was the wrong road, so we turned round and took the correct road only to find it was dirt again. Not wanting to put ourselves or the bikes through that again we turned around and just headed back into Sandy Hollow onto the golden highway.  We stopped in Denman again for some food and fuel and carried on back down the highway and onto the freeway finally reaching home around 830pm.
It was ab adventure to say the least and this morning pretty much everything aches but we all arrived home safe and in one piece so i would say it was a successful trip. We totaled approx 1100kms for the 2 days.
Unfortunately a few months ago i had come off the scooter after hitting a pot hole in the dark and Ben had done some paint work for me to get rid of all the scratches on the fairing, i guess the poor boy will be painting it again  :well
So that was our trip but it was nice to catch up with Grumpy and see his lovely dogs  :thumbsup

I nearly dropped my ST1300 turning left on bitumen on a small pile of gravel. I too was looking through the corner to where I wanted to go.

Easy done, but makes you more cautious.
