hiyas, I thought I'd investigate the cost of a map update for my Garmin Zumo 220.... Garmin want $100+ for a map update. However, I found lots of sellers of supposedly compatible maps for around $20.
Has anyone got any experience with these from eBay? I'd hate to trash my GPS.
Cheers, Rob.

:'( bugger, looks like it was taken down sometime between Saturday and now.
check again in a few days

search Garmin Openstreetmap, will give maps worldwide and any given area can be downloaded to garmin devices

The site is working again, but requires registration to enter.
I would be hesitant to by an ebay update, as it may be bogus and a waste of money. Purchase a real Garmin lifr time update and you will get updates forever.

Glad its back up, I've never been spammed or anything from the site on the email I registered (I have a special one for such things :thumb )

as per Yorkie's ( ++) suggestion, I've just installed the latest OpenStreetMap on the GPS (Zumo 220) and into BaseCamp - all works a treat.
I think it'll do nicely - my only test was that I can now route a motorcycle (rather than an off-raod vehicle) over a road that the old map thought was a dirt track. A deeper poke around reveals even a little more detail with additional POIs.
Quite easy in the end.
Cheers, Rob.
