How to vote
What political parties are
How lo write a resume
How to run a household budget
Anything to do with banking
How to drive
First aid
How to tie knots
How to jump start a car, change a wheel,  or other basic emergency things

There's a remote chance I might use Pythagoras' Theorem, and I've even used a bit of algebra, but I'm afraid I didn't go on to develop rocket ships, so calculus was wasted on me.

I'd never heard of a resume until I went to apply for work (1980s) at Ford in Geelong. In SA you just wrote down your previous employers and the company called them. Even in 1990 I never needed a resume in SA but when I left that work 17 years later I needed one.

Then there's the cover letter which is an unnecessary evil in my books.

When I went to school we learned Reading, Riting and 'Rithmatic, subjects that seem to have been replaced with Self Development, My Rights, and Web Page Design.   :fp

I've used Pythagorean theorem to square up the markings on a soccer field, and when framing up a house.

I've used calculus in the form of Laplace transforms to convert from the Time domain to the Frequency domain in electronics.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laplace_transform

I've also used Fourier Transforms
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourier_transform

These days a lot of the oscilloscopes now has Fast Fourier Transforms built-in, so you can see the signal and then view it as a spectrum. Some even allow you to view both at once.

Cheers,
Gary

So that's what they wanted us all to be- electronics engineers!
Wish I'd known and not wasted my time as an English and History teacher, then compounding the error by training to be an airline pilot!     >:()

What's the difference between an enzyme and a hormone?

You can't hear an enzyme.
