Post by: Bruce on September 25, 2011, 10:04:05 AM
Here is a heads up for those who have a more recent version of the ST13 (2008 onwards) if you are not on the Stealer list you may not be aware.
Recall for rear brake reservoir hose.

After reading about this recall on here , I've since found out mine is one of the recalls, sent the dealer in penrith where I purchased the bike new an email , then had to follow up with a phone call today, for something that could be potentially dangerous they're a lil' blazae about it all. Then when I get home today Honda has sent a notification in the mail, coincidence? Now I have to take time off work to get it down to them at slacks creek , inconvenient? Perhaps I can get my 24k service done at the same time. Thanks for the heads up re the recall Ozstoc!!!!!

Had mine done today all seems good, did not think about the fact they would change the brake fluid when i booked it in. If I had I would have got them to flush the clutch fluid as well.

Called Pro Honda a week ago (no knowledge of the recall) and they said email the details that I was aware of and they'll check on it with Honda MPE.  Emailed them immediately and have yet to get a response.

Has anyone already had the job done somewhere else in Brisbane?

They should know about it, when I got my letter (last week of Sept)  I called Midland Honda & they told me they had to order the part in but that they had 3 others booked in already

Just got back from having mine done at Griffith Motorcycle Centre. A nice 333km round trip with a nice lunch. I caught up with an old work mate. There are some very attractive women there  :thumbsup, not that I took much notice mind you :crazy
I got the recall done alongside a 6000K service. They said they hadnt had any ST's with the quoted problem, and hadnt heard about the recall till I rang up.
So full belly, nice women, serviced bike, recall done, good ride. Yep only one thing left to do - Open beer fridge :beer

Went for a long ride on the weekend had the trailer with me, so braking was a little heavier than normal but I noticed that I had to "pump" the rear pedal to get a good braking feel something that never happened before the change of hose

Prestige Honda did mine while I waited. All seems good. They said they had to change the rear master cylinder.
