Well the Mrs and I had a ball over the last week testing out towing the camper trailer, camping at Balranald and mixing it up by staying on a luxury houseboat on the Murray river with 5 others

One of the other crew got signed up as Captain so I was just along for the ride. These things steer like an armoured personnel carrier does when swimming in water and I had plenty of practise doing that years ago. So damn relaxing. We pulled up on shore each night and went out for dinners at Ulysses events.

Couch I dont know much about taking pictures, but they did come up good. :thumb They were all taken with the 10 mega pixel camera in my HTC Desire phone. It takes good photos. I have read they have a newer version coming out soon with a 28 mega pixel camera :eek

Tony, I assume when you talk about washing and polishing your baby girl that you mean your ST, not Mrs Tony????? :rofl

28 mega pixel yea that is good and maybe have a look when it arrives. At the moment my Noxia N8 8gig will do and it only has a 12 mega pixel camera. maybe an oldy but a goody,

It is unfortunately a fact of life that almost regardless of the resolution of the camera (i.e. the number of megapixels), the actual quality of the image produced relies almost entirely on the actual lens through which the light travels. It is also a fact of life that the lens on a phone is only about 25% of the diameter of a normal camera. So whilst most phones produce quite good pictures (quality-wise, not necessarily content-wise) there comes a point at which any increase in megapixels becomes a waste of time, because increasing the resolution cannot make up for the lack of lens size. The pictures posted here are fantastic, but even if they been taken on a phone with a much higher pixel count they would not, I think, have looked any better. Normal pictures are almost indistinguishable from high res pictures until you start to enlarge them to make posters etc, so the increase in megapixels comes down to a marketing ploy rather than a practical benefit to customers...bigger is not necessarily better!!. Add to that the fact that phones have no, or very limited, zoom capabilities, no motion stabilisation etc and it becomes clear that a proper camera is a better alternative if you want to take really excellent pictures. However phones are fine for happy snaps.
