Title: Today is the day that I remember my Mates, in my own way.
Post by: Kev Murphy on April 24, 2017, 12:04:14 AM
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

A quiet day at home yesterday, where I remember my mates, and what we acheived.
I did not get to the Dawn service today, too far for me to walk to the venue.
As usual, it rained a little as well.

Happy Anzac Day all :hatwave

One of my passengers today said "happy Anzac day" to me and I thought to myself "do people actually say happy Anzac day?" and I come home to read this post.  I don't think I've ever heard it before.

You are right, probably not the most appropriate thing to say, it's a day of remembrance with a degree of sadness I suppose.

More inappropriate to ask someone "Why the long face today?"  :o

Probably should be happy that our countries had people such as those.

RIP Dad, Uncles Alan, Alec and 'Snow"

I have always reflected on my memories of my Mates on the day before ANZAC Day, I think it sort of pre-prepares me for the commemoration.
