Shock horror....I have just noticed that there is something missing on my new st1100....just below the honda sticker (just above the headlight) there's a hole which I thought the PO might have installed a badge or something but looking at some photos of other st's I realise it must be a retaining clip/fastner?....is that correct...and do I just get it from Honda?
Also...I noticed a very nice chrome rack mounted on the top of the factory top box...was this a factory accessory or after market?

The hole is for a plastic securing plug that holds the front of the black panel in place.

It appears to be this part number 90651-MT3-000 or item 19 from the Windscreen parts list and probably about $2 to $3 from a local dealer. Won't hurt to check for sure when you order.

...you could, or U could go to Burson's or the like and buy a small Champion pack of 2 or 4 at a fraction of the cost of an OEM one.
Just a thought...the can:-)

I would think the chrome rack would be after market. Be sure not to overload it. The one on my old Goldwing cracked the lid of the top box. Be sure there are big flat washers either side of the top box where the rack is mounted to spread the load.

A word of caution - load limits might come into play. The top case would have a load limit (as does the mounting) and by adding a rack to the lid you would have to carry less in the case to compensate. It might look good but not necessarily practical.
