The Club wishes to advise that Sabie (Michael) a long time contributing member to OzSToc and the club forum has passed away surround by his family in QLD after a long terminal illness.
We wish Michael's wife Pauline and their extend families our sincere condolences at this time.
Unfortunately Pauline has made it very clear that she doesn't wish Sabie to be added to our "Ridden On" members thread. In addition Pauline has requested that I post on the forum a FB messenger post from her about her feelings for OzSTOC and some of our members.
While I believe no good will necessarily come from it, I will consult with the other mods.
Again our condolences to Sabie's family and friends.
Chris

Sabie you have ridden into the sunset one last time, we may have drifted apart but I value all the kilometres and memories we made.
Wish I could have said goodbye.
RIP Sabie you will not be forgotten in my memories

A friendly warning Chris about posting "negative" stuff on social media.
The courts have shown in recent cases that they are prepared to impose sanctions for inappropriate posts.
The latest example of a defamation case was in today's Canberra Times and probably in your paper as well. The defence that was used to justify the Facebook post was struck out and the defendant was ordered to pay the legal costs of the action.
Lets keep our Forum clear of actionable posts.

The mods agree that we wont be posting the FB Message to the forum. But we did wish to advise of its existence however and that it has been attached to the moderator only section of the forum. It doesn't make reference to any one member of the group and I can confirm there are NO Names mentioned in any derogatory way.

Sad situation. Life is short. Make everyday count folks. RIP Sabie.

Very sad to see Michael finally lose his long battle. Ros and I were fortunate enough to spend time with Michael and Pauline on a number occasions and visited them for the last time earlier this year. He put up one hell of a fight against his illness and never gave up.
Go well Michael. We will miss you.

I only got to meet you once in real life Sabie and that was a very pleasant experience.
Life dealt you a number of shitty hands and that definitely coloured the way you saw the world but through those particular glasses you made some very salient points in this forum. Some not so salient though ..... :p..... but over all you made a difference to the club and you forced people to rethink their ideas.
best wishes for your next big ride.
Rest in peace .....or not and give those in the after life some points to consider! :beer
