G'day everyone,
This RR is covering the attempt of Carrol and myself to attend the QLD RTE on the 12/08/2017.
The day was going well, Carrol and myself were enjoying the ride and were only about 20mins away when there was a bang from under the bike and the handling started to get a bit heavy :eek
We pulled over and found the rear tyre had a puncture, I tried to repair it but it didn't work :||||
So we called for a tow, while waiting every bike rider that passed signaled to see if everything was okay :hatwave
We just gave them the thumbs up as there was nothing to do but wait. (Bike riders are awesome people :thumbsup)
After a while STimpy showed up and stopped to provide assistance and some company :blu13
We discovered that cattle trucks have an unique smell and if the rear tyre comes away from the bead a winch is required to move the ST :fp
STimpy, thank you for all the help and time spent on the side of the road with us, your company was exemplary :-++ :-++ :-++
Anyway I have compiled a bit of video covering some of the highlights of the day.

What camera are you using? Were you speaking as you were riding or did you edit in the commentary afterwards?

I use a Sena 10c. It has all the usual features of the Sena headsets with a built in camera.

Thanks guys :hatwave
The rear wheel is off and I'll take it in to get a new tyre tomorrow :thumbsup
There is a silver lining though ;-*
Since the rear wheel is now off, I have finally installed the Bike-Quip Rear Shock Protector :grin
* Always got to look for the good in the situation (Sometimes it just takes a bit of looking to find :thumb)
Cheers

Thanks for sharing - we've also had the puncture mishap occur in the past though thankfully not since about 2009.

You can also do the same with a GoPro but you need to buy the external mike and another case to allow the mike to connect to the cam.

I do have a mike for the gopro but never actually used it.
