Ever had an experience similar to this?

Seems even large heavy vehicles like a prime mover — with two trailers attached, can be tripped up by shiny, slick, wet road surfaces, not unlike "Black Ice"!
I have just reported a piece of hazardous road where a riding buddy almost trashed his Harley CVO. The whole road surface was fully slick and it was on a bend. I was following on my Goldwing. We both managed to get around the curve without throwing the beasts down the road.
If you see a hazard, report it!

This is why I ride in the centre of the lane between the wheel tracks, wet or dry it gives more traction as the surface is not as compacted

Hi Yorkie,
I used to ride in the centre of the lane between the "tracks" until following behind a large truck an unfortunate large kangaroo flipped out from between his rear tyres and hurtled towards me. Luckily, just had enough distance to swerve to avoid a collision. Another time I came down on the road when I hit an oil patch left behind by a leaky vehicle. I tend to ride more towards the centre of the road for better visuals and to be seen by vehicles going both ways.

This is the particular piece of road. On a wet day, the whole width of the road is like glass! It doesn't matter which bit of road you choose to ride on.

Just east of the Boondi Rock turnoff.
I try and keep off the bit between the tyre tracks. I move around quite a bit, hunting for the best bit of road. More often it is just to the left of centre and moving over to the left when a vehicle is oncoming.

The trouble with the centre bit is the oil droppings, a touch of water and its glass..
-
It is extremely rare for vehicles to drop oil these days also more likely in cities when stopped at lights etc, virtually unheard of on country roads unless a rod is dropped or something similar
-
But who rides in the country????
Only freeways for me Unfortunately.
