Hi all,
Great to see a thriving online community around STs. I've created a challenge for myself. Buy a cheap older St and ride to northern NSW by Nov2. First part done. Bought a 95 ST1100 yesterday .. pretty much on gut. I'll pick it up next weekend then have a couple of weeks to sort any issues, configure it for my size - 6'2", get some riding fitness up (been years), and go. Call me nuts. No really, go ahead .. :-(((
So I'll probably be begging for help soon. Hope you'll be kind and supportive.

Greetings from far away Joondalup.
The main things to look at for your long trip, will be new tyres (Michelin PR4 should do the trick, thats what is on my 1100), oil and filter change (I use Penrite HPR Diesel 20W50 extra10 and Repco ROF135 filter). Maybe replace the coolant as well. You might possibly want to fit handlebar risers as well, but that can lead to issues with hydraulic hoses being too short. Also brake and clutch fluid. All relatively easy to do at home.
Another thing, may be to replace brake pads and final drive oil.

Thanks Brock .. exactly the kind of support I was hoping for. Where's the best place for ST parts in Perth? HB risers for eg.
-
The risers are sourced from the interweb, some one will pop in soon with the place the got theirs.
Other parts depends on what you need, Honda is expensive.
How many Ks has the bike done, does it have the 40 A alternator.

Welcome aboard from SA.
Pity, looks like you'll just miss the National Ralli in Wooli.
If you enjoy your ST1100 half as much as I do, you'll be stoked.

G'day Elderberos, welcome to the forum. All the info you may need can be found here, with lots of helpful hints and advice.
Good luck, not that it will be needed on your trip across the paddock. The ST's are great bikes for big k's.
Make sure you also fine tune yourself after a long absence from riding. don't outpace yourself. :thumb

If you can get to Wooli NSW by the weekend of the 20th to 22 Oct, you can join the annual National Rally.
Being from the northern rivers NSW, I'm curious as to what is attractive at the destination in early Nov.
PS welcome.

Only another 139 km to Wooli.
Make a holiday of it and do the National Rally and ride the ranges to the west in between that and the training at Bellingen. :grin
