Hi All, Stuart is my name and my bike is an ST1300. Met Yorkie in York a couple of weeks ago when riding from Perth to Esperance - He came and chatted to myself and a couple of others in our crew heading for a 4 day weekend. Had a great weekend away and knocked out 2000KM over 3 days to test our endurance as i am planning a Perth Canberra run in late March 2018. So here I am joining the group. Look forward to contributing
Cheers
Stuart (perthcarpetcleaner)

Welcome PCC. Quite a few white ST Owners in here, but you'll come to realise the red ones are faster. :grin
Also a lot of us are FarRiders- the ST is one of the best mile-munchers available. You can improve its ability by installing a cruise control, custom seat and highway pegs. You can search all those items using the search button at the top. FarRiders hang out at
http://farriders.com/forum15/index.php (http://farriders.com/forum15/index.php)
I'm Biggles over there, too.
A reasonably common FarRider outing is Perth to Sydney (or Newcastle) in 50 hours or less. The return trip has been done in 90 hours (with rests).

Welcome Stuart, hopefully we will see you in Narrogin

Welcome form Adelaide. A nice set up up. I like the way you have set up your foot pegs. If we cross paths some where I will have to have a closer look. :thumb

G'day STuart, welcome from the eaST coaST NSW. that's a nice lQQking STeed. All those extra switches on the Police models are good for extra lights. I have my HIDs on #2 and Roo spotters on #1, cooling fan on #4 , others are good for power outlets or isolating power if you run it thru your trailer hitch. I have an 1998 ST1100P and a 2008 non police ST1300. ;-*

hi Richo
bent these up myself as thought the after market ones i saw were just too expensive
put self adhesive black non slip grit on the bars so your foot can be in a range of different position to help with the knees and circulation in the backside. They just bolt onto existing 10mm threads which are underneathe the grey plastic covers. Very easy to remove if needed.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171003/34cd412ba8b017a06222f75444e4cfc1.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171003/ff5c347129f70fbc8d24b0b21f171ac8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171003/540c8570e6fefa359eda4e0f25fb8397.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171003/d5854ccd1c0b814f6d145e6ca9da43c8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171003/a6084cf600a215a14180ba5a79869b7b.jpg)

Interesting approach to the cruie pegs.
A word of warning, pay no attention to Murphy, he is seriously sleep depraved, ( not a misspell) he sits up all night looking for jokes to post all day, while watching movies of dubious quality.
Oh,
Welcome to the asylum

Are they jokes?

hey Stuart... welcome to OzSTOC from Tropical North Qld... if you can find the time next year and would like to stretch your STeed's legs with some interstate touring or just as an excuse to do a Lap, then come and join fellow OzSTOCers at next years NR2018, here in Mackay... Cheers, John & Kate.

Hi JohnnyYTED.
Yes you are right about that. Have added a relay and use 1 for my spotties. And have used a toggle switch on the right side just below the seat to isolate power to the trailer as to not over charge battery. Dont know about your bike but i purchased my bike from the auction and they were bery rough when decomissioning the bike from police service and removing equipmemt. Glad i checked as there were live power wires that had just been cut off with no insulation tape applied. Could have caused a short and fire.
was unable to find wires for several switches but got the items working that needed to be connected.
cheers

let us know how you go with the LED light set up.
Currently installing a solar panel on my trailer - http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=11506.msg1220692#msg1220692 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=11506.msg1220692#msg1220692)
Just need to drill a couple holes in the trailer roof for the cables to go inside and connect all the wiring.

Looks Good.
Was going to go down the same road but decided to charge house battery in the trailer from the alt on the bike when riding. as i plan to travel with a double swag on the top of the trailer, did not want to loose the storage.
Noticed that the rails you have the panel on is distorting a bit from the bolts being tightened. You could put a spacer of round ally tube inside to stop this. i.e. run the bolts through the centre of the ally rube. Can get from bunnings and inexpensive.
Cheers

I still have to remove the panel and drill the holes in the lid. Was just mounted for transport to Adelaide so a friend do the soldering for the wiring terminals - done what we could but was missing a few little items so couldn't complete it. Better get my act together as I'm gonna need it soon.
