Title: Mud glorious Mud
Post by: Lorien Vale on October 08, 2017, 04:31:06 PM
Just had a horrible experience: I went out on the bike this morning with rain a possibility, when I came home this arvo the three and a half kilometres of dirt road to our property was a total quagmire. The ST did not like it at all. I had to idle along in first and nearly lost it several times even at that low speed.  Did lose it twice on the driveway from the rd to the house (250 meters). Boy these things are hard to pick up in the mud. No damage  but wow I'll think twice about going out in the rain again from now on. :eek

Had that experience riding brand new VL800 home.  Needless to say co-owner (now ex) was not pleased.

I have a memory of doing so when it was my only means of transport. But it now never seems rain when I intend to ride :think1

I ride in the rain all the time.  The only hassle I have with it is it plays havoc with gopro footage. (http://www.footballnews.com.au/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

No That's all taken care of, thanks anyway. But you may be able to recommend a good restaurant to take the missus out for dinner. ;-*

I normally avoid riding in the rain like it's the plague. However I needed rain so much on the farm I thought it was worth a try. It worked we are still getting rain. I might be able to stop hand feeding in a few weeks :runyay

Looks like you may need to lay in a concrete bike path. They do not like muddy or very sandy surfaces.
