I am doing a write up on different apps and wanted to find out what different people were using on there phone for there travels, Thank you.

hey jf3000... when we go touring, 2up and towing a trailer (or towing a van with our car), we use -
FuelMap (we like like to refuel every 300ks or so)
Where is Public Toilet 1.20 (tells you how far away the next one is... also they're usually situated in a town park, which makes a good rest area too)
Google Maps
I know they're books and not apps, but we also carry a caravaning camps and truckies atlas (not the same book, strangely enough)... cheers, John & Kate.

Until now I have only used the greenalp gps tracker so my wife knows that I am moving. On my next trip I will also run bubbler/spotwalla. Other than that google maps if required.
-
Booking.com app for accommodation bookings and music player app for music and podcasts.
Cheers

Willy Weather
Spot Gen3 (not a phone app) for safety and the folk at home
I usually wing it for accommodation, and therefore don't use any booking apps
My music lives on my Garmin 590 GPS

Bubbler,booking.com & trip adviser, service station app and google maps.

Emergency + ...great idea, just downloaded it on the phone.
Don't know why this hasn't been promoted by STate & local governments :o

I have the Emergency app on the phone.
TomTom Rider - I input fuel and overnight stops before I leave and other things to see along/near the route. Use Google maps and the TomTom My Drive software to put it all together.
Petrol Spy - estimate fuel costs before I go - dependant on users updating prices
I also have Parking (motorcycle spaces) but only really good for me when I go to Adelaide.

Thank you everyone for your input, lots of great info, I plan on doing a write app with most of the content, not only to benefit myself but others like us as well. When I usually ride I use an app called One Touch location http://onetouchlocation.creativeworkline.com (http://onetouchlocation.creativeworkline.com) It basically allows me to share my location real time to the meter, so when i was traveling between QLD and SA I always wanted my wife to know where I was in case of an emergency.
Other than that nothing, but since slowly getting to know most of you there is a ton of stuff I certainly would like to add.

I always wanted my wife to know where I was in case of an emergency.
I'm opposite - I like being out of touch.
If I'm riding across to Perth I call Heather before I leave Ceduna and again a couple days later in Norseman; if I remember.
-
spot or bubbler mean relatives know where to send emergency services when you stop moving unexpectedly for a long time. The I'm OK button prevents false alarms.

I've had the Emergency+ app for years. GPS coordinates and a mini map for cross roads to provide to 000 operators.
http://emergencyapp.triplezero.gov.au
I use Google maps for navigation.
I use RadioApp and ABC Listen App for entertainment/radio listening. They use mobile data to listen to radio so you can listen to one radio station across a large part of the country.
I previously used Morecast which combines maps with weather forecasts to plan routes.
