Title: 1100 front axle spacer
Post by: Lorien Vale on November 23, 2017, 02:02:06 PM
Hi Folks I have done a stupid thing :|||| I had a new front tyre put on this morning but I didn't realise there was a spacer in the front wheel that spaces the end of the fork from the wheel at the opposite end from the speedo. Anyway you guessed it I have lost it. This only became apparent when I went to put the wheel back on and the inner hub started rubbing on the end of the fork.
So I have made a new one from 4140 steel and I calculated it's length to be 16 mm. But I would appreciate it If next time someone has their front wheel off they could measure the length of the spacer just so I can be sure I have the right length.  :Chocies  Don't take it off specially to measure. I'm pretty certain that it is quite close at 16mm I would just like to be sure as I can either shorten it or make a longert one if needed, It is working OK at the moment.

Thank you for that I will adjust the length accordingly, although 1 mm over the length of the forks is not going to make much difference :thumbsup
