I went for a ride today with my son-in-law on his Kawasaki 300 Ninja and my mate Mark on his VStrom. Mark has just got his licence and is on his L's. Weather was overcast with very light drizzle from time to time, but not enough to need stopping to put on the wets. First stop was the Strathalbyn Corner Bakery for a coffee, and then on to the Finnis General Store Cafe for lunch. This place has amazing meals and was the destination for one of SA's RTE's. It's always worth a return visit. We rode a couple of great roads in the Adelaide Hills including the Bull Creek Road with it's fast open sweepers, and the Ashbourne road, which is a favorite with Adelaide's riders. It was good to be out on the bike for a day. :thumb

Hi Pete, yes they are a couple of really good rides and the Finnis store does a terrific breakfast. I'd heard it was on the market a couple of months ago, let's hope if it does change hands the new people keep up the high standard. I'm heading down that way myself (tomorrow) but in the car (the kayak is a bit big for the ST). Great to hear you're on the bike and getting about following treatment. Looking forward to a decent ride with the group in the not too distant future.
Cheers ... Mark

Nice to know that some have time to ride.
Finnis so far is on the list for Dec - last one for the year. Made it a Sat. RTE.

Some great roads down that side of Adelaide. I prefer those roads to gorge road etc which are ten minutes from home

I used to ride some of them when living at Happy Valley (now Reynella East)
