G'day, I've been a bit quiet lately on here, well everywhere, not juST the www's even out in the big weird world we live in.
At Wooli I had mentioned I was planning to re visit Tasmania on STrangler after taking my mother there in the Volva laST May, so I'd STarted doing some "Spirit" ferry enquiries.
In November 'STroppy' aka Terry called and me and said he was intereSTed in joining me and that 'chops' might also be intereSTed. Then thru the facebook page STimpy also let us know he was keen to join us if things work out for him. We also let Diesel know and then PC and Marion as they will STill be on the island.
So Terry and I are booked on the overnight Spirit ferry on Sunday 4th March and returning to the mainland on Saturday24th March, we are both towing trailers and plan on free camping as much as possible to save on coSTs. We are also open to anyone else who would like to join us, the more the merrier they say..
If your intereSTed in joining us get in contact with Terry or myself.

I spent a few hours today prepping for the Tassie trip as its only a month away today that I leave to STart the trip.
I fixed a bit of trim on the coffin and put a lockable latch on the box on the drawbar.
Got bits n bobs together that I think might be handy 'juST in case. lubed a few places, and STarted to plan the packing within the coffin.
I'll get it all together and test ride at least a week before the 3rd March juST to be certain its all safe ... ++
We have the RTE next Sunday and a FarRide on the 17th then I'll do an oil change and check all other fluids and oils. During laST week I added another set of LEDs I removed from STranger to increase my lighting, not that I think we'll be riding much after dark in Tassie.
I might take STranger out over the next few weeks instead of STrangler even
STarting to get excited... :grin and impatient :well

Hey Johny ATM it is daylight at 6am and dark at 9pm and once you see the road kill you won't want to ride after dark so I wouldn't worry about extra lighting

YeSTerday I learnt a bit more about STrangler, reading the manual I found the oil filler cap without ripping him apart :eek . I removed the lower cowling drained the oil, which was STill gQQd lQQking and clean of metal, changed the filter with a Honda filter poured in the new Shell Helix oil, then STarted the bike and let it run for a few minutes, as per manual, then 'off' and waited about five mins, checked the oil level and the oil had settled right on the top marker line. That was well done! the right amount of oil 1ST go :grin. what a fluke!!
I bought a new camping table at ALDI on Wednesday for the trip. I've also been gathering things to pack in the coffin to bring along.
I'm taking a new rear tyre I have along juST in case I need to get it fitted.
I'd charged the deep cycle battery via the 240 power lead and turned on the fridge, disconnected the 240 power and let it run to see how long it STays powered. roughly 3 days, so free camping I wont have to run the bike to charge up the battery :thumb Terry and I should be able to juST do little supermarket STops to shop along the way.
only a week to go now before I STart the adventure south to Tasmania, and so lQQking forward to breaking the mundane life at home. :well

Phil the plan is to do as many twisty mountain roads as possible, we are in Deloraine at the moment, last night tonight then moving over to Ulverstone Big4 tomorrow until Sunday, then it will be back to winging it for another 2 weeks. Diesel is planning an RTE at Ross soon, but we are open to any rides if we are near.
