I woke up to find that Shillas wasn't going to make it due to battery problems. When I opened my bike shed the indicator light was flashing from the night before. The last time I did that it drained the battery. This time, well there was enough charge to light the dash but not enough to turn over the engine and I thought I'd also be a late absentee due to battery issues. A call the RAA had me up and running albeit just under an hour late.

My usual pit stop when heading in this direction is Inkerman. I didn't shut it down just in case it wouldn't restart and left that until I refuelled at Port Wakefield. At least if it didn't start I was in some sort of civilisation and could hope the roadhouse could help me. I'd have returned home had that been the case but fortunately it turned over no problem.

I haven't been to Yorke Peninsula's bottom end for over three years but then I made the comment that everyone in Corny Point owns a tractor. I had to chuckle at this sign. Incidentally, three years ago the road to Hardwicke Bay was dirt, but it would appear it is sealed now.

The kiosk at Innes National Park was as far as I got on only other trip there not knowing it was a fee to go any further and the kiosk being unmanned. With that knowledge this time I booked it online last night so today I could ride on in.

This is the first time I have come across a road sign with reference to drones.

With views like this the $10 fee to get in was well worth it.

With my personal agenda out of the way it was time to turn back to Marion Bay for the RTE. I arrived there just minutes before the gang who met up at Bolivar. I think everyone ordered pizza. Three of us stopped at Port Wakefield for coffee before making our way back to Adelaide, whilst the other two were overnighting it in Stansbury.

Thanks for your company today. It was a great day to ride with good food and company. A little over 570km for me today. Saddle sore (oh for a daylong seat) but hard to think of a better way to spend the day.

Saturday's RTE was a great ride, with the weather being sunny and in the low 30's as a max. I was a bit concerned that the 600km day for me might be a bit much, as my ride fitness and endurance is well down, so I took an overnight bag just in case, but it wasn't needed. My friend Mark, who has just got his L's and is riding a V-Strom, rode with us to Port Wakefield where we stopped for a coffee. Mark rode home via the Barossa Valley for his longest outing yet of around 370km, which is a solid day for a new rider. We continued to Ardrossan where some refueled, and we rode on to the Marion Bay Tavern where we met Bodo, arriving at 12.15.
Marion Bay is a little seaside fishing/holiday town at the foot of Yorke Peninsula, in the heart of cropping land, and is a good launch location for exploring the Innes National Park.

It was pizza from the wood oven all round for lunch, with views from the dining room over the ocean. It was a great location and wonderful food and was certainly worth the ride.
On the ride home, we all refueled at Minlaton, and stopped again at Port Wakefield for a break and a coffee, before the dual highway run back to Adelaide. I arrived back home at around 6.45pm, pretty knackered after the ride.

Nice ride report Pete. Gla dyou could do it in the day even if it took it out of you. Sounds like a great ride for all. I’m a bit green.

I did the ride OK, but paid yesterday with debilitating fatigue, and could hardly drag my arse out of the lounge chair all day. :eek

Saying daytime tv is awful is being generous. Absolute and utter crap comes to mind.

I hardly ever watch tv 'live' anymore. My tablet is full of local and foreign stuff I have recorded or downloaded and I tend to watch it when I have layover time at work.

That ancient Tech called books, but you need to be able to call concentrate, which chemo may not be conducive to. Books on CD from library or downloading podcasts may be a good alternative, just have it going whether hear it all or not.

One of the reasons we watch "If You're The One" (Chinese) and vs. Arashi (Japanese) on SBS as we no longer have live TV entertainment anymore other than sport.
