Title: Strathalbyn for Coffee
Post by: StinkyPete on February 17, 2018, 01:27:19 PM
It was forecast for a beautiful 30 degrees today, so Chris and I went for a morning ride to the Strathalbyn Corner Bakery for a coffee.   The roads were quiet and some of my favourites  in the Adelaide Hills, taking in hstoric Macclesfield, where the "Three Brothers Arms" might be a good location for a local RTE.    There was a mass of bikes leaving Strathalbyn as we arrived, and it looked like a patch club on a run.  Sttrathalbyn is well known for all of it's antique shops and cafe's in High Street, but we left them alone for today, although one shop was advertising quite cheap "air guitars".     After a lovely coffee and chat at the bakery, and a productive browse through the local hardware shop,  we rode home via the Ashbourne Road and the Bull Creek Road with their fast open sweepers, and then through the tighter twisties from Clarendon back home.    At the moment I'm really appreciating being able to get out on these shorter rides with the dearly beloved.
