What do you guys and gals reckon?
I went for ride last week :grin
Put bike away in shed
I went to go for ride today
Keys still in ignition turned on :cuss
What do I do?
Charge battery. Then I thought I got portable battery pack so I jumper started it and away I went
Well I got over to the other side of town, while stopped at traffic lights it stopped :cuss
Dead flat again lucky I took battery pack so jumped it again and away I went
Well it stopped twice more still flat :cuss
Finally I got it home :thumb
Now it is on CTEK charger
Hope the battery is all right
The ignition would have left on for a week. Does anyone think I have a chance or new battery :well
It is a Yuasa only a couple years old

In my opinion, the worst thing that we can do to a battery is to let it go flat. :-((( If you can resuscitate it with a quality full charge you may be ok. :hatwave However, with winter just around the corner, you will know soon enough if it is cactus. :||||

If you are lucky, the battery may recover, but left on for a week the battery may be sulphated. ( tech term for forked).
I'm thinking the quick n easy (not cheap) solution is to replace the battery, or talk to Kevs mates.

How old is the battery? Is the battery out of the warranty period?
My previous battery went dead two years after new or a year after the warranty. No sign that it was going to fail. I stopped about 20 km from home and the bike started and the next morning I turned the key and it was dead.
A jump start with the car and about 100km later the battery failed to take the charge - time for a new one!
Which is what you'll need.

I'm the one who voted "No" when I probably should have gone with "Maybe". It's just that you might not have killed it depending on its age and condition. But as the Panel agrees, it may well be history and you'll have to pay for your sins.

Was my experience a few weeks back. Left work & it was fine, stopped a few minutes later, then failed to started. Jump start got me home, but battery obviously dead, failed to start again after a 42 km ride.

I've just check the poll. Can't say that I'm surprised, except the one vote for Get one of Kev's telemarketers to assist!
