Title: Waikerie RTE
Post by: Shillas on May 19, 2018, 08:16:18 PM
The ride started out wet, raining at home and continued through to Verdun and the Stanley Bridge Hotel where Sandra & I met up with Stinky Pete and Langer. We left there for Truro, with a forecast of 60% chance of rain of up to 2mm. Well, we had 100% rain for most of that leg, and got everyone's 2 mm.

It was a slow ride through the hills as traffic slowed when Pete's new BMW, same model as SAPOL ride, came up behind them.

Met Richo at Truro bakery, a little behind schedule. Coffee, tea & cake while stripping off wet weather gear.

Then back on bikes for the ride to Waikerie Hotel Motel for lunch, where Bodo and John G were waiting for us.

Lunch, a drink, much talk before group photo with flag and departing back after 2.00.

Pete, Langers, John G & Bodo & selves rode to Swan Reach for afternoon tea, then Pete, Bodo & selves rode to Sedan, where Bodo split off on his way, while Pete & selves went back through Mt Pleasant and waved bye to each after just past Woodside.

A great days ride, despite the rain. Not only Sandra's longest ride, but the first in the wet & she enjoyed it all.

Looking forward to another RTE later in the year

Here's a few more photos from our Waikerie RTE.   It certainly was a wet ride until after morning tea at Truro Bakery, and from there it was a pretty good day for a ride.   Thanks to all for the great company and a wonderful day on the bike with friends.

P.S.  This was the Beemer's first OzSTOC RTE, and I was surprised that there was not much intensity to the "piss taking".  However I did bring it on myself when I asked who else had a heated seat.   :nahnah

Looks like we missed a good day.

Didn't get much rain up our way though we had some over night.

Thanks for sharing
