An throwaway line in the Where Is This thread to a StinkyPete post saw me ride to the Toll Building in Glen Osmond/Urrbrae yesterday morning.

Initially from there I thought I'd go as far as Echunga to pick up an E for the Make A Word thread but whilst refuelling in Crafers decided it was too good a day not to go for a ride and decided to make my way to Narrung for the ferry as I had never done that one on two wheels.
This sign in Crafers intrigued me as it was on an off ramp facing away from the traffic and if you were facing the way to read it you had other problems. I had only stopped to get the Crafers sign. Upon posting it on facebook Ppopeye asked me what a small wheeled vehicle was. I could only guess a 50cc scooter but it would appear it means a skateboard, rollers skates and the like.

Point Malcolm Lighthouse just oppsoite Narrung, also known as Mundoo Light, is Australia’s only inland light station. The concrete tower is also the nation’s smallest lighthouse.

I would take the long road around the lake to Meningie before crossing the Wellington ferry on the way back. A caffeine break in Strathalbyn before cruising through Macclesfield on the way the Echunga.

An inland lighthouse. For the ferries? :grin

"The lighthouse operated between 1878 and 1931 to mark the narrow passage between Lake Albert and Lake Alexandrina. It also served as a navigation aid for traffic on the Lakes." quote from https://coorongcountry.com.au/point-malcolm-lighthouse/

Another quote:
The Point Malcolm Lighthouse in South Australia guided paddle steamers through the lower lakes of the River Murray from 1878 to 1931.
