New member here from Redland Bay (Brisbane). Just purchased a 95 ST1100 that needs a little TLC. This is my first bike over 1litre and I grabbed the ST to help my wife get comfortable as a pillion (she didn't like it at all on smaller sports bikes).

I'm a Chartered Engineer by trade (Electrical, ITEE) but have been working on cars since I was a young teenager. Gotta love the 80's/90's Alfas.

Been a little while since I've had a bike, but getting into the swing of things again in preparation for the Awesome Andes tour with World on Wheels for my 40th.

Anyway, the new bike should be delivered next week, then a little maintenance, rego and away we go! Looking forward to catching up on the next ride near us.

Did the same thing, bought a bike (98 ST1100 for $250) that needed TLC, unregistered and neglected for a few years. Spend 18mths rebuilding it, now into my 40,000 klm usage. Great bikes, indestructible.

My wife loves the comfort and room on the ST .Like you our previous bike was a sports bike,
(Gsx750) ,so I'm sure your wife will be impressed. good luck and safe riding.
