Title: Head water connections
Post by: Ralphstboy on May 08, 2019, 09:13:01 PM
G'day,
a water leak under the carbs was traced to one of the water hose to head connections, I removed the fitting to find what looked like decomposing rubber gasket, "O" ring like.
Can anyone please tell me if gaskets are available or what other owners had used,
Cheers Joe.

Would help if mentioned whether you had an 1100 or a 1300

Regardless 1100 water pipe here. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2000/st1100a-a-abs-ii/water-pipe (https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2000/st1100a-a-abs-ii/water-pipe)

O ring item 11 x 2 - 91331-PC9-003

Item 8 x 2 if yours look cracked - 19523-MT3-000

Items 1 & 3  Replace the hoses while you're in there - 19504-MT3-000 & 19506-MT3-000

1300 here https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2005/st1300a-a-st1300a/water-pipe (https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2005/st1300a-a-st1300a/water-pipe)

O ring item 24 x 2 - 91331-PC9-003

Not sure if the 1300 is better than the 1300 for their elbow part but just in case

item 14 - 19510-MCS-000
item 18 - 19520-MCS-000

Hoses

item 7 - 19504-MCS-010
item 9 - 19506-MCS-010

Probably cheaper to buy from Partzilla and takes about 10 - 12 business days as a guide to where I live.

You can get from a local dealer and give them the part numbers if it's urgent but also depends if the warehouse in Melbourne has them in stock or not.

G'day,
points taken about bike type, foolishly I think of it as The 1100 Forum.

Thanks very much for your reply, lots of information there, thanks again,
cheers Joe.

G'day,
before leaving this topic can someone tell me if it is better to present  the Carb set to the in place rubber mounts or attach the rubber mounts to the carbs and install the lot, ST1100,

Cheers Joe.

Until you get an informed answer, my response would be (bearing in mind I haven't done that particular job)- install the rubber mounts then insert the carbs.  That's the logical way of using this type of seal.

G'day,
thanks for your reply, they are new rubbers and I will apply rubber lubricant so they should slip on, I will try mounting on the head first.
One thing that has me tossed is the "O" gasket size, in the post above the 1100 head is shown as 11 X 2mm, I measured my fitting ID and it was 20mm so that puts it more in the 1300 ball park
which is 24 X2mm, now i'm not sure how "O" rings are measued but 20mm ID + 4mm is 1300, OH well I'll go with the flow.
