Nah, wouldn't even use it as a boat anchor.  Every time you pulled it up you'd have to relive the horror.

Just proves the theory - Harleys are most a home on a trailer or in a truck.
Certainly couldn't have ridden it that far.

Just amazing. Some of my fondest Motorcyle experiances came from riding an old 74/93in FLH Stroker I owned for maybe 15/20 years. Only sold it when Harleys became trendy some 20 years ago, and suddenly everywhere you looked their were "Bikers" :nahnah all dressed up like something out of a magazine. Before that everyone who rode was just a Bikey

You've definitely got a point, Terry.  If a bike does what you want it to, and you have a lot of fun and good memories from it, then you're certain to feel a nostalgia for it.
And you're right about half the reason we superior riders mock HDs- it's because their buyers are trying to buy the Hard Man image.  They'll put up with the vibration and other evils imputed to the HD so long as they feel people regard them with awe.  To ensure they do get looked at, they blast everyone with their anti-social racket and excuse it by saying "loud pipes save lives".  If a nervous driver hears a sub-machine gun roaring up behind them, they're quite likely going to swerve into the biker's lane out of fear and disorientation.

Before Harley davidson was sold to the Vaughn Beals crowd, Harley in no way alighned themselves with or even recognised the ownership of Harley Davidsons by the so called "ÖUTLAW" mortorclist. But once again Harley was broke and Beals advertising team then used the ÖUTLAW" image to promote their product to those that wanted to play dress up and pretend they were something they were not :rofl  Hence the formation of "HOG"clubs where in Beals own words, an accountant can play dress up and pretend for the day he is something he is not, surrounded by like minded people. Funny thing is that with the first formation of the first "HOG" club in Sydney around 88/89 the word "BIKER"stated to be used around the traps.
Australia has always had "BIKIES'' "SURFIES" and "TRUCKIES" its only the Yanks that screw up the English language

Its a pity Harleys have that image as there are some good touring bikes in their range. They used to be just another bike. At rallies the Triumph and Norton boys were the trouble makers

Remember in the movie 'Stone' the real bikies rode Kwacka 900s (cause they wanted fast bikes that handled and stopped) and laughed at the harleys and trumpys. How adverstising has changed the general perception of bike riders.  :bl11

...personally, I'd like to think HD would give him a new one and put this one on a plinth :)
