We are all restricted by the pandemic in where we can go, and our touring plans have been put on hold. During this lockdown time I encourage you to post a single photo from a memorable ride, and briefly tell us the story of the photo.

This is a photo of me at the "Big Boab" on the way to Derby while on my 2019 OzLLap. It was a hot day, I was tired both physically and mentally, and stopped for a drink of water. In the bottom of the pannier I came across a packet of Life Savers, given to me before I left by a friend, and to be kept for an emergency.
A single life saver was a much needed and lovely link to home, and restored my soul.

Your lap of OZ prompted this one StinkyPete,
Its me at the start of my OZlap, in 1974. My mate and I rode my Honda 750 and his Yamaha 650 round OZ. It took us just on a year, visiting all states and territories including Tassie. We'd saved for the trip for about a year so we only worked for only about 6 weeks while travelling. All the rest of the time was spent riding to anywhere that took our fancy. Our long suffering girlfriends (later our wives) met up with us a few times to ride with us for a while. Photo1 is the start of the trip saying goodbye. Photo 2 is at Wilpeena Pound in the Flinders Ranges. Luggage has grown because we were riding two up at this stage.
Hundreds of great memories of the trip including the dirt roads on the Nullaboor and through West Australi and many unspoilt campsites. I was a youthful 20 years old.

This was a trip I had planned when I joined the Ozstoc forum and it would prevent me from attending my first RTE for about three months. This photo was taken on the prefecture border between Miyazaki and Ōita along a stretch of road I cycled many times in the eighties. It was my first time back to this part of the country in over a quarter of a century.

Nearly three years ago I introduced a good mate (ex ST1300 owner) to the challenges of Ironbutt riding. We did the Brisbane to Cairns ride. The photo was taken by my wife who had flown to Cairns with his wife and were waiting at the accommodation.
From there we took a week riding down through Queensland establishing Chapters of the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

This was the Innisfail overnight stop. As you can see, the ladies weren't going to slum it!

What FarRiders forum is:
It is fully focused on long distance (LD) motorcycle riding within Australia
It is the members discussion area for the main FarRiders.com site - https://www.farriders.com (https://www.farriders.com)
It is for riders interested in extending their ride days or ride distances.
It is a place where you don't need to explain "why"
It is for exchange of ideas and information related to long distance riding.
What FarRiders forum is NOT:
It is not a general motorcycle riders forum
It is not a newbies or new riders forum
It is not bike specific
It is not a place for selling your product
In a nutshell think Long Distance motorcycle riding and all things related to that.
That's what we are.

I wasn't really interested beforehand and I am less interested now.

I'm with you, Bodø! :thumb
They don't come across all that friendly... :o
-
No, doesn't seem so. A number of checks to get through. Their logo isn't round, a circle or an oval, despite looking being the same shape as this. :Like:

Quite a few FarRiders around here.
I agree with you though. I’m not fond of some aspects of management!

That is pretty much what happens here as well. I once spent two days at work filtering a massive attack from russia/europe as well as mant hours at home.
I check every application, its surprising how many dont get through.
