For quite a while now I have been contemplating setting up a pi-hole (raspberry pi with some custom software) to block ads , never got round to it. The other day I heard a testimonial on a podcast about nextdns.io which does the same thing (plus a lot more). Its free at the moment then will become US$1.99/mnth for more than 300,000 webpage queries.
I installed it a few days ago and I'm very impressed with the results.
It is a little tricky to setup , it can be done at the browser level or OS level or both.
Seeing as its free for a while yet, it might be worth a look.

basically make a few setting changes to your browser of choice and no more ads ! Means the pages load a lot quicker

Isn't that what Adblock does, why do I need a subscription for what I can get for free.
Also, there are some sites I like to keep ads on, as that's how the can afford to stay in business, like the company I work for
