I recently swapped the bar risers between the two ST1300s in my garage.
If you've ever tried to undo the Allen key bolts with any sort of Allen key, you'll know it's a tough ask.
My longer keys are usually up to the task, but on this occasion I thought I was going to bend the bar. So I got out the appropriate key from a shorter set, drilled a snug hole in the end of a piece of hardwood and tapped the key in about half its length.
The stuck bolt couldn't resist my new-found strength, and each one released with a satisfying click.
Doing them up to the required torque was a simple matter of remembering my elbow setting on the removal and reproducing it when tightening. :grin
The key below the timber version is my regular larger 5mm key.
