Title: NSW road rule changes
Post by: Sicman on November 19, 2020, 01:09:02 PM
Just a heads up if you plan to visit NSW - NSW Govt announced this morning, that over the next 12 months, they would phase out warning signs ahead of their fixed and mobile speed cameras, and increase fines for those who drive affected by drugs and alcohol  :law

Sounds like they're taking a leaf out of Victoria's book... lol

Warning signs went a couple of years ago in QLD.  Now they even have the rear of the camera vehicle unmarked and park in the emergency lane with their hazard lights flashing, to look like a regular stopped vehicle.  It's only when you go past you might glimpse the stickers on the side.  So now you have people braking (from legal speeds) for every stopped vehicle.  I know they shouldn't need to, since they are all doing the right speed, but many people feel you need to go past speed cameras (fixed and mobile) at least 10kph under the limit.

We don't need warning signs here in Victoria.

Well, not official warning signs anyhow... :grin
Chances are oncoming traffic will "flash" you a warning and, if not, every speed camera vehicle seems to be an SUV, (well, here in South Gippsland anyhow)...so if you see an SUV on the side of the road, it's time to check your speed... :whistle :thumb
