Bought a Battery Fighter 12v/24v Battery Guardian from Supercheap Auto for $29.98.
Just tried it and it's brilliant. Been haveing some battery problems fo late.
Plug it into the Cigarette lighter socket and it tells you the state of the battery.
Start the engine and it tells you how much the battery's receiving.
Only small so it can be kept on the bike. Worth a look.

They do indeed, me, I just felt that I needed a bit of redundancy and accuracy

I have one of the battery bugs (not the new backlit one). It estimates cranking capacity left, voltage and warns when voltage drops below certain levels. I also have the police voltmeter and the CB can also do battery voltage. A backlit one would be better if you were using it to monitor battery condition while riding along.
