Similar trip for me, day 1 Canberra to Mildura = 813, Wudinna = 791, BV = 689. Health might dictate another day to do it in. Dallas may be riding with me.

Anyone need a bed for the Friday and Saturday nights at this years Border Village Run?

I have a motel room with 3 beds, one rider has had to withdraw, so now looking for some one to take over that spot.

I’m leaving from Canberra on Tuesday, 30/07/2024 morning if anyone wants to meet up anywhere along the way.

Cheers

I am still 50 ks from Renmark, so that is a bit too early for me. Will have to try next time.

Finally tallied up my figures for BR 24 and compared them to BR23
                                           BR23             BR24
Total kms                            2,901              2,905
Total Fuel litres                     165.8               168.52
Total Fuel Cost                    $401.06           $407.11
Av Fuel Consumption km/l   17.50                 17.24
                          l/100km     5.72                 5.80
I used the GL1800 for both BRs.
I purchased the Wing as a Honda Australia demo with 1,730 kms on the clock in Sept 2015.
Somewhere on the way to Border Village it clicked over the 151,730 km mark.

That is really good mileage for a heavy 1800cc bike, on this border trip my 750 cc Transalp only averaged slightly better at 18.5km/litre, however this was with pillion and heavy load.

Yes I am happy with the figures, with a25l tank it will certainly get me further than I want to ride without a stop.
I have fitted one of the early Henry Final Drives ( https://henrysfinaldrive.com/ ) and that along with a taller car tyre on the rear has dropped the revs by about 500 rpm to 2,500 rpm at 110kph.
Before the changes when riding with my mate, Steve, from Victor Harbor on his Indian I would always use about a litre more petrol than him and now I use about a litre less.
I am trying to convince Henry to make one for the ST1300. Hope to catch up with him in LA at Christmas so will twist his arm.
