Any interest in this one from SA (or elsewhere) apart from Bodo & myself?

Border Village last week, just got back from a Far-Road ride to Blinman today, Caltowie next week - why not!!
We'll likely head up Saturday (destination unknown), lunch Sunday and afterwards destination unknown and head home Monday (well, that's the plan today).

We'll likely head up Saturday (destination unknown), lunch Sunday.

Any further thoughts on the destination for Saturday night? Might do the same.

It looks like a slight change of plans for us. The tradie ute and me have been booked for moving plants on Saturday, helping our son with house reno's. So the plan is now to head up Sunday morning for lunch and then likely stay at the Laura pub Sunday night and a cruisy ride home Monday.

A slight change of plan.

The Caltowie Hotel doesn't do Sunday Lunch.

The venue instead will be the Commercial Hotel, 35 Ayr St, Jamestown 5491

The menu looks good and with Sri Lankan Chefs, may even meet Bodø's curry expectations

I was looking forward to Caltowie as it's always looked like it was rocking when I've been through (albeit probably on saturdays) so the curry better be good.  :eat

A wet & windy ride to Burra ready for the final run to Jamestown.

Route today was home via hills (wet) to Gawler, then fuel at Kapunda, Eudunda (roadworks all the way between Kapunda & Eudunda - speeds between 40 & 80 the whole 20+ k distance). Then windy & drizzle in parts between Eudunda & Burra.

Robertstown, our November RTE was quiet, 3 cars outside the pub & that was about it. But pretty similar levels of activity in Kapunda & Eudunda.

Nicer room in the Royal Exchange in Burra than in February 2023, looking forward to dinner. I would hazard a guess the RTE Coordinator will list this as a venue for next year if the food is as good this time as last time.

Made it safely to the Port Broughton pub following checking out the big battery on the Hornsdale road (not particularly impressive due to the distance from the road).
An excellent discussion at lunch and the Fisherman's basket at the Pt Broughton pub was well worth the ride.

Oh, and I've finally discovered a positive wrt the aging process. If you are old, a fisher person (please note the PC language) and can no longer ride, you can trade the ST in for a gopher and motor down to and out onto the local jetty and take with you 6 rods and reels each rigged for different species and any amount of bait and buckets.
The elderly gentleman we met was having a fine old time and a heap of fish he didn't have to lug with all his gear back home. Rusty, it's definitely the transportation of choice in one's latter years - even if it's electric 😁

Hey, I like mobility scooters, in fact I had a Tesla up until recently...with a trailer! :grin
Unfortunately, Sue wouldn't let me ride it as she reckons I wasn't old enough for one so I ended up donating it to a worthy cause...  >:()
