I've just had a look at their website.  It says they open at 1300 on saturdays and the kitchen from 1800.  Maybe they don't do lunch.  I just made a phone call and it went to an answering machine so I left a message.

No.  I just had a look at the Blyth Hotel as an alternative but it too appears not to open for lunch, if at all.  Instagram suggests it changed hands last november, a question on google maps as to whether they open for lunch got a response of no nine months ago, and nothing since then or contact details may suggest it may be permanently closed.

In the region the Magpie And Stump Mintaro, Gilbert Valley Hotel Saddleworth, Rising Sun Auburn and the Watervale Hotel and General Store appear to be open for lunch.  Other options I guess are the Greenock Hotel and Springton Hotel - both also open for lunch.

Richo and I had lunch at the Magpie & Stump a few years ago.    It was a great location, but if we go there, I'd hope that the meals have improved.

The recent reviews have been ok. I have friends in Mintaro that say it's good (not to the standard of the Watervale, but not as pricey either) and have held food focused events at the Magpie.

There are two ST riders in Mintaro that I would like to get involved in OzSTOC, but my friends are OS at the moment & can't chase up the riders details, so maybe add a Clare Valley destination for next year & I'll see if I can get the riders along.

It's shame if that's true because last time I went there it was open.  The facebook page doesn't say anything but the comments do suggest it has closed due to irreconcilable differences.  Nearby Sutherlands appears to be open when I looked them up a couple of days ago.

Sutherlands Pub closed until 18 November.

I'll call it that Roberstown Hotel RTE is no longer on.

New Venue will be the Commercial Hotel in Morgan - similar distance, last RTE there was in 2019, which I missed due to a family wedding.

Actually, yes I did read the Sutherlands was closed for a week.  I was thinking of next year at the time.  I'd be happy with Morgan.  I think I  missed it as well since I don't recall going there.
