So I've just realised that this is the actual 2025 National Rally - not a reunion event - which I'd not bothered to read as it wasn't relevant to me, not having attended the original Toowoomba Rally.
Might wish to make it a bit clearer?
But then, I am a bit slow >:()

Well, it's 10 years since the 2015 Toowoomba event which is now staged at the previous original Toowoomba 2015 event location.....so it's a reunion of the 10 years since this event was last on in Toowoomba at the same location but...now i'm cross eyed :fp
I was there in 2015 though :OldMan

Yes that is exactly what I thought it is. Hoping my prompting may have had others add their wives/partners/travelling companions to see how numbers are going. :like

Chris will also be there.

Helen and I are planning to attend also. Not sure of mode of transport (ST1300, car or car & caravan), accommodation will depend on mode of transport, or mode of transport may dictate form of accommodation.
.... this is not an official list I just did a list of people showing interest so far ....
Leo, thanks for keeping a track of those indicating that they're attending. I think it would be good to add partners (if this info is provided), as they say the more the merrier and I think it may encourage others, and their partners, attending.

Has anyone contacted (or will someone put their hand-up to contact) the Big4 to advise them that Terry will not be attending the NatRally? Perhaps someone could take Terry's booking and arrange for his deposit to be refunded to Joanne.
-
Thanks Mike,
I should have posted this earlier:
ATTENTION RALLY ATTENDEES:
In light of our sad loss of Terry recently, we have contacted his wife Joanne who has kindly donated Terry's cabin's deposit to the Club for anyone who would like it. Terry had paid the deposit on a 3 bed cabin, so you and your comrades will only have to come up with the balance.
MAKE SURE YOU: Tell the Big 4 caravan park that you would like the Terry Butters Cabin when you book as this is what has been arranged and they will understand what this means.
Many thanks to Jo for her kindness from all here at OzSTOC. :KissBlow

Kate booked a cabin for us today. Also mentioned we were with OzSTOC but the lady (supposedly the manager of the park) knew nothing about the 20% discount. We got 10% instead, slightly disappointing.
We're being hopeful we can attend but not able to confirm yet.

Can add 1 more as I registered and paid today.
I also found accommodation with Dougie, :thumbs
See you all in March ;-*

Quite possibly the one I cancelled yesterday. Sadly I am not going to make it. :'(

I’ve had to ditch the idea of riding for medical reasons, flights and car hire booked.
To make it a real 10 year anniversary, I’ve registered for the World’s Greatest Shave again, and if the organisers are ok with it, would like to do my shave at the Friday night meet and greet.

Good morning Wendy, I hope you’re given approval for the Worlds Greatest Shave reunion. Can you share your WGS link so I can donate and share it on my FB page. I’m not registering this year but happy to promote your WGS event by having my head shaved.

Booked in from Thursday to Monday. The rally is part of a longer trip as I intend to pop up to Cooktown then nip across to Normanton followed by a run south through Cloncurry, Longreach, Noccundra Hotel, Tibooburra, Wentworth and home (all subject to weather and infrastructure damage - it may be much shorter than planned - we'll see).
I'm after some local Toowoomba knowledge. I reckon by the time I get to Toowoomba I should change the front tyre (Motoz Tractionator GPS) because while it's more than adequate for the trip to the rally, it might not be sensible to trust it for the length of the trip. So, are there any motorcycle tyre places that can be recommended?
Thanks ... Mark

Getting tired just thinking about that on a motorcycle.
-
That is a long trip. I too had plans to ride to Tibooburra and on to Cameron’s Corner in June but decided against it with back not a 100%. Have you considered carrying a spare? Are you doing it on the VStrom or Himmy? Should be an amazing ride . Hope to catch up in Toowoomba.
Cheers.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I had hoped to do the big lap but life has a tendency to get in the way so this is my consolation prize.
I'll be taking the V-Strom (the Himmy would be able to do it I'm sure but the V-Strom will be significantly more comfortable on the long outback roads) and won't be tackling much in the way of unsealed roads (by my calculations there's a bit between Noccundra Hotel and Tibooburra - the rest is black top).
Very much looking forward to catching up at Toowoomba.
-
I get Tyres at 2 wheel tyres at Tivoli near Ipswich
More than competitive and do a great job
Tivoli is approx 100km east of Toowoomba just off the Ipswich bypass and the tyres are scrubbed in by the time you get back
May have to ring to make sure they have some or order some in
-
Elite motorcycle's in Toowoomba can get all tyres and charge $35 per tyre to do if you just bring the wheel in
-

I seem to remember a back gate in the caravan park that makes the walk even shorter.
That’s good because I think Diesel’s 3 minutes with his long legs is about 15 minutes with my short legs. I might also be huffing and puffing like a wolf looking for piggy’s house to blow down.

Bugger, back to Diesel’s 3 minutes. Talk about a first world problem. Lol(https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTM0OWM5ZGQ3N2s3ODczeGQ2cWdlbWd3ZXdyajMzMXcxOHR0NGY5ejVyMzFxbmdmbCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/9pZw57AyqOHy47oSZq/giphy.gif)

Well with my knees the way they are there will be no walking any distances from me, unless some wants to carry an extra 95kg, LOL

Chris and I have made the difficult decision to pull out of attending Toowoomba. My back is still giving me grief and I'm not sure I can manage multiple days on the road. On a positive note, I'm seeing a different and highly qualified "master" physio, who might have identified something causing my pain that MRI's and Bone Scans did not see. I was looking forward to sharing in a toast to acknowledge and celebrate the life of our friend STroppy, who is sadly missed by all of us in OzSTOC. His passing has knocked me around, and I was brought to tears at his post before the border run when he expressed the view that it might be his last.

Good decisions are always difficult for some reason..
Rest up and get well..

Taking the inland option is your best bet.
The coast route will be any absolute shocker from the central coast upwards.
When it's finished up here it's heading down there :nahnah

We may now have some difficulty making the trip to Toowoomba. We have a diabetic dog who is not doing that well and may have to be around to monitor him. In the event we pull the plug which will be reluctantly is there any Victorian member who may be able to take a Goldwing centrestand to Toowoomba for me. We are currently in Mallacoota and will be coming home by Monday or Tuesday.
This also means there may be a spare cabin for the weekend.
-
Is there anyone driving to Toowoomba that could make a pitstop in Brisbane to pick up Tipsy ( Laurie ) and Turvy ( small dog ) by any chance ?
-
Monday or Tuesday.
I can pick it up Thursday on my way through Bendigo

Chris and I have also come to the decision to cancel our tripto Toowoombs this year. There are several reasons but main one is our dog Charlies diabetes is not under control and whilst it seemed To be better we need to stay home and work with the vet to sort it out. We are on our way home from Mallacoota with him and cant leave him with family if his treatment etc is not settled. So we need to stay and do that.
So if anyone needs a last minute cabin ours will be available today or tomorrow.
There is also a motel room in Gilgandra on Thursday night which will be available.
Oh well.

Safely home after leaving in the rain following Timbo.
As luck would have it, we overtook a Semi coming down the range who gave the horn a short beep.
As I exited Withcott, the phone rang, and it was Tding. It was him driving the Semi. :grin
We had a bit of a chat for quite a while.
The rest of the ride was mostly dry, so we started to heat up, but we were so close to home that we kept going.

The logo for this year depicts the famous giant flag and flagpole at Picnic Point in Toowoomba.
This flag can be seen up to 20kms away as you travel in from the East (Brisbane/Ipswich) side and prepare to ascend the range up to Toowoomba.
The shirts and underlying colour of the logo are the infamous maroon of Queensland.
The logo for 10 years ago at Toowoomba featured the legendary Cobb and Co. stagecoach as this location was a major destination for them way back, and there is a wonderful museum showcasing some of their equipment.
Someone has pictures of the old Vs new shirts compared with each other, so please post them up here for all to see.

Diesel asked me on the OzSTOC Facebook page whether I enjoyed the Rally, but also the planning and the journey to & from.
I really enjoyed the Rally, it's a bit like extended family get togethers - they may only happen once or every couple of years & conversations and relationships pick up where they were left off.
Planning the trip up was a good challenge & I was able to plan one that had new destinations (for me) on the route.
When Williamson posted on the Forum that he was looking to come back via the coast & seeking interest from those wanting to join th Fellowship of the Ride, that pretty much fitted with my plans. Had an enjoyable trip back with him & Nigel, sharing stories, tables, drinks & accommodation. The route down the coast took me to many places I hadn't been to before, including riding in the Big Smoke of Sydney - somewhere I'd never driven or ridden before.
Looking forward to the next one, wherever it is.
