7.5K may be a little high, maybe 6K..

It hasnt done many Ks, but how long ago was it serviced, how old are the tyres??  The tyres might have good tread, but if they are old they can self destruct when the warm up on a ride.

The ad is a little light on for info, I would need to know more, in particular service history.  Give the seller a call, ask many questions, eg.

Only paid $6k for same model with heaps of extras, cruise control, heli bar risers, highway blades, etc and only 80,000kms...so this is well overpriced. $5k maybe

Ah well you snooze, you lose. Someone else thought it was worth the money and bought it. Thanks for the input guys.

Next bike is a bit newer and more expensive

Owner says tyres are 10 years old, hasn't been serviced professionally for 9 years  and oil is 2 years old but he's only done 5k in the last 2 years. It's had a driveway drop and the right hand crash bar is damaged. How much for new tyres and a service?

Sorry for all the questions but I've been an ST fan for a long time and I want to buy with my head not my heart

Hi Spudwa have you seen this post

Gee, what a nice bike.

I've been keeping my eye on BikeSales.com (for obvious reasons), there's a range of ST1300s out there, broad range of km, years, condition and $$, and then there's a seasonal effect.   It's hard to know the sweet spot, but I reckon I might it right at the moment.  Quite a few enquiries since I re-advertised last week.
