With one ST1300 and the Classic trailer vacating the garage, I'll get some more space. Right? No! Well, not for now.
About 6 months back, no.1 son upgraded the family vehicle, replaced the Subaru Outback (a very nice car) with a BMW X5. (a very, very nice car). The Outback was no slouch, a 2010 model (he bought new) with around 175,000 on the clock, but the dealer offered $2000. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot??? We discussed this, we can do better.
Being retired, I have plenty of time, I'll tidy it up (boy, did it need that - two teenage boys can be messy) and prepare it for sale. Despite this offer in March, it sat idle in front of his house, battery died, rego expired (despite numerous reminders from me) then cancelled, a coupla extra expenses and processes we didn't need.
Items completed so far:
- Unregistered Vehicle Permit purchased
- Good scrub outside.
- Vacuum & vinyl restored inside
- LHS mirror repaired
- Coupla light bulbs replaced
- Yellowing headlights polished
- Coupla lower control arm bushes purchased
- LHS rear shocker strut purchased
- CV joint boot purchased
- New battery installed
- A/C re-gassed
- 1st RWC inspection (identified bushes, strut & boots)
- Fielded plenty of enquiries
- Taken a few prospective purchasers for test rides -NB. The 58 yo Greensborough man stabbed on Sunday during a test drive was not me.
- Plenty of waiting.

What was wrong with this sub forum (https://ozstoc.com/index.php?board=98.0)?

I think you have put an extra zero in the mileage. If it has done 1.75 million ks, it is in remarkable condition, but the price might be a little high...

I wasn't in the shed.

Huh? Not sure what you mean.
Price? Within the range recommended by CarSales, comparable with other similar listings and with a bit of wriggle room.

This looks like 1,750,000 kms therefore the price would be high at that mileage. Thats what the previous comment was about.

Fixed. And a reminder to self - don't use the iPhone, use the laptop, at least for posting and viewing items with lots of text.

Since returning from Tasmania, and experiencing a couple of snags, I too have spent a couple of weeks with Rubina on her centre stand and panels off.
One of the greatest pains in reassembling the bike is putting the tank cover on. Getting the strap to connect with the buckle down beside the head stem destroys any amiability I might have had approaching the task. This time I had a brain-wave. Instead of trying to thread the strap at the tips of my arthritic fingers, I can now thread it into a snap buckle that I can more easily connect to its mate, then tighten by pulling the "tail" as per usual.
