The other night I had a dream that went for commercial breaks on multiple occasions. Has anyone else has this?
-
Not that I can recall :think1

I think you need to stay off the drugs, Bodø! :rofl
-
I dream of winning lotto, and buying a Unimog
-
I had to look up what a Unimog is.
That is a massive 4WD, would you set it up for camping?
-
You can put a Jaycar poptop on the back.
There a fewof them in WA setup for 4x4 recoveries. There arent many places they cant go.
-
.... There aren't many places they cant go.
Apart from underground and multi level carparks, etc ..

If guess if Bodo was expecting a serious answer he must have been dreaming.
I’ll bite. I have dreams that return to familiar locations - not familiar from real life but familiar from previous dreams. That’s kinda amusing.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but boy do they come up with some great ideas.

I've had that too - where they've continued as a multi part series.

Ooops, thats Jayco, as in the poptop camper.. Not the electronics store.. I blame Thailand

Bodo, you had those mushrooms in the Christmas salad again, didn't you?
-
Actually, I didn't eat anything christmas day as I swapped my christmas feast for a christmas fast.

How about a Haflinger?
Probably the complete opposite of a Unimog but a very capable vehicle in its day... :popcorn

I wish our family could've had a Christmas fast on presents... :rofl

I did my christmas present shopping in november. The troops are in Japan now so I can't give them them until late january.

That would've been handy, you could've saved a few bob by buying gifts during the boxing day sales! :grin
Our family, well, mostly Sue & her side of the family just go crazy when it comes to Christmas presents. (shame I didn't think to take a photo)
We had to start opening presents Xmas Eve to make room for everyone and then we started all over again on Xmas Day! :fp

To save some people the trouble of looking up Halflinger, this is the one I had.

I knew what a Haflinger was, sort of anoff road VW..
Watched a video recently of a Unimog in the off road tracks in NSW. Some 4x4s in front of it pulled off the road to let it past, as it was handling the terrain much better/faster..

They only have sort of half a VW motor, 600 cc two cylinder. Made by Steyr Puch

I drove the Uninogs when I was in the Army.
They were fantastic on firm ground and great at climbing loose shaley slopes, but did struggle a bit in the mud.
During the contract tender trials, they'd handled mud well too, however, the bean counters had already contacted for a tyre which were narrower than the original Unimog tyre, so we paid extra to have the narrower rims fitted so it could use the tyres which would fit the old Mark III, IV, and V International Harvester trucks.
The Unimogs that were used to tow the Guns, were constantly getting bogged, so they had to be retrofitted with the original rims and tyres. That solved the problem.
The result was the torsion bar suspension caused all the wheels to lean out slightly at the top, which meant the outside year wore much quicker, and we would go through 3 sets of tyres in the time the wider than the ones towing the guns.
If I was to get a Unimog, I would have to get the original rims and tyres.
Also, be aware when driving through the bush, the brake system is mounted on the outside of a chassis rail, (left I think) and if you sideswipe it on a stump in the bush, being an air brake system, all the brakes lock on.

I don't think I'll ever get a Uninog, but that was interesting.
Thanks Gadget :thumbsup
