Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

Saaz(John) & I have put together a Ride to Eat/Meet & Greet for the ACT/NSW members, on Sunday 24th of June.

Approximate meeting time will be 12pm at The Robertson Pie Shop, 4400 Illawarra Highway, Robertson

This is going to be a great opportunity to put faces to names, check out each other's bikes, and go for a ride.

you can either ride straight to Robertson Pie Shop or you can see who is is coming down from your way and ride down with them

Sydney 145km 1.5 hours
Canberra 185km 2.12 hours
Newcastle 295km 3.4 hours
Batehaven 176km 2.4 hours

I'm in and am told the pies at Robertson are pretty good, plus there's the run down (or up) Fitzroy Falls to (or from) Kangaroo Valley. Good sweepers, good twisties, good road.

From Canberra, my rough plan is to go to the coast via Kangaroo Valley, then up through Jamberoo to Robertson.  On the way back, maybe down the coast and up from Batemans Bay, the the back way from Nowra.

Closer to the event I will PM my mobile number to those going just in case people can't make it, running late or need some help.  If anyone does not want to commit but wakes up and feels like going, come along unannounced - thats what riding is all about!

where and what time you planning on leaving? I would love to join but may have to ride the wife's Cruiser mine is out of rego.

Going the shortest way to get there, I would allow at least 3 hours.  So a 9 am departure, probably from the BP at Watson on the highway or the United at Eagle Nest.

The shortest way is through Tarago, Nerriga, Nowra them up therough Kangaroo Valley to Robertson.  There is a small section of reasonable gravel road that way. Otherwise up to Marulan, Bundanoon, then Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Kiama and up through Jamberoo to Robertson.

I'm trying to get there but it's a bit of a stretch from where I live near Port Macquarie.
If I can get a mate to come as well, he's also got a (an?) ST1100, we might stop overnight at his mothers in Baulkham Hills and make the ride a couple of days.  Is there a different route other than down the M7 or is that the way to go from the Hills district.

The M7 is the easiest way to go if you just want to get somewhere.  It would be great if you could make it.  I will keep in mind that a more Northern NSW meeting point should be planned for onetime, as well as a more westerly one.  I will start putting up some ideas to get expressions of interest and locations from locals.  Stay tuned!

Hi Brad,
It would be good if you could come down. If you were going to stay at Baulkham Hills we could ride down together as I live just up the road at Castle Hill. Here is the route I was planning to take http://goo.gl/maps/mIrl (http://goo.gl/maps/mIrl) which is about a 350km round trip. The M7/M4 route is certainly the best to get clear of the city. If you don't have a E Tag I could bring a spare one (or 2) along for you to borrow.
Peter and Paul have said they are coming and live nearby so we could even make up a convoy!!   :)

Hi guys/gals,
I'll try and make the ride to the pie shop. I'll be coming from Menai (Southern Sydney Suburb) but only if its not raining as I am getting back on the saddle after many years off and am still getting reacquainted with all things bike. I used to ride to the pie shop all the time when i was a kid and remember the ladies making the best pies ever. I was planing on traveling to Wollongong then up Macquarie Pass from Albion Park rail just in case anyone wants to travel together.

Only a few days to go!  Forecast for Bowral Mostly Sunny, 11c to 2c so weather should be ideal.  Any late starters welcome if they can't commit until late.

No need to remind people to wear thier shirts, just in case some of the other groups happen to forget so we can claim the weekend record  :thumbs

And while we are together, we can throw around a few ideas for other venues so I can put together some sort of future agenda.

A few of us will be meeting at the Bull and Bush Hotel at Baulkham Hills at 8am on Sunday to ride down to Robertson via the Gong and Macquarie Pass. Hopefully we will be picking up Rubencan enroute. If anyone wants to hook up with us along the way or come to the Bull and Bush let me know.

Weather still looking good, if not a bit cooler for some of us not near the coast.  I just received my Zumo cable so the GPS/mobile/CB system is now what I want it to be.  New tyres on the bike.  Might even put some new petrol in.

I have been speaking to peter (blue Heeler) tonight, he tells me a good bunch showed up, and that Dick B has the photos, and it was very cold!

The day finally arrived and dawned clear and crisp with Paul reporting a chilly 0C at Oakville. ST riders converged on the Robertson Pie shop from all points of the compass including Canberra, Castle Hill, Oakville, Menai, Batemans Bay and Bowral. The brisk morning probably thinned our ranks a bit but we ended up with a creditable Eight ST's and Twelve participants although, only six were "shirted".

We are not quite up to the standard of the Qld and WA contingents as yet but, as this is only the third OZSTOC RTE in NSW we are not doing too bad.
Ride 1 to Wollombi comprised just one person
Ride 2 to Sofala comprised four people
so twelve at Ride three is pretty good. At this rate of growth we will be breathing down the necks of the Banana Benders and the Sand Gropers in no time.
I think I have come up with a new nick name for myself. Whenever I am leading a group all those following seem to get plenty of practice at doing U turns!! so maybe I should be called "Yewie". (as in chucking)   :)
I hear Saaz had a bit of trouble with the machine on the way home so I guess he will fill us in sometime.

Thanks for putting that up Dick. I will get onto my ride report and a few photos.  Lets just say some days the ride home is not so straighforward.....(but no major dramas really)
