No comment, just putting it here for info.
"ST1100 1990, very good condition, 68,000 km (2 minor cosmetic blemishes), perfect mechanically. Regularly serviced, good tyres, everything on the bike works as it should.
I have been led to believe that this is one of the 6 bikes sent to Australia by Honda for assessment prior to their release.
While i do not have any confirmation from honda the build date 6/90, vin0004, cats eye free windscreen, and decals leaves very little doubt that this is one of the first st1100's in the country. i have been recently informed that no1 is a right off so it is unlikely there will be a better example in the country.
This is a very tidy bike on Historic registration. For the one or two people genuinely interested in this bike the price will be staying where it is ( open to sensible offers) only reason its for sale is its being rarely used."
Asking $8500.

I think they are very realistic by not being in a hurry to sell. The demand for larger capacity touring bikes these days doesn't appear to be great which is sad given the enjoyment they have given people over the years.

1990 ST1100 for 8400 is expecting a lot for a very old bike. It may be in good mechanical condition , but it has the smaller alternator..
Regularly serviced doesnt mean much, if serviced every 10000Ks, thats 7 oil changes.. How old are the tyres, battery and coolant..

Judging from the price and his comments he doesn't want to sell it. ("For the one or two people genuinely interested in this bike the price will be staying where it is").
I would say he put a price that is high enough that it won't sell, but if it does sell he gets enough that he won't mind.
(I knew a bloke that did this many years ago when his misses told him he had to sell his bike)

She's dreaming .... it's highly unlikely that anyone will be genuinely interested in the bike at the asking price.
One of the first batch of ST1100s delivered to Australia - big deal!
Early build date, low VIN - big deal!
The price will be staying where it is (open to sensible offers) - Whisky Tango Foxtrot, what does that mean?
Yeah, it's at the I don't want to sell it price.
