Where: South Australia - somewhere like Kingston, Robe or Beachport
When: March - Diesel already told us that, but to be more precise Fri 20 to Sun 22 March
Why: Although probably WA's turn that's too far, TAS too expensive, NT nobody there, then it comes to SA
-
March-NSW-Blue Mtns...cause it sounds like a good idea

Me too 👍, it would be like a tribute to STroppy. Capital Country Holiday Park Sutton is a great venue, although NSW, it’s only a 30 minute drive to ACT. Some nice quiet roads too.

That sounds like a great idea Jd
Even though I chose Tamworth I think it is time to go back near the coast somewhere so even though I have voted Wollongong is another spot even though I have never been there

Not having been somewhere before makes a great reason to go for a ride...
Time to put in for leave now so I can ride there and back rather than a plane home :rofl
And convince Phil we need to go for a ride.

WRT 2026, my preference is in the following order:
1. Tasmania - it is distilled and concentrated bike Nirvana and I'm really keen to see the Wall at Derwent Bridge, it should be pretty close to finished.
2. ACT - plenty of good roads to play on before and after and heaps to see in the Nation's Capital.
I very much enjoyed Toowoomba and a huge thank you to all involved in the organisation and it was great to catch up with so many. However I think I must be a cool weather rider - the 3 consecutive days 37 or over at the start of my ride just about did me in, so I'm hoping for somewhere not too hot or humid (I do understand this year's weather was definitely unseasonable and no one could have predicted it).
Cheers ... Mark

ok so it is March and around the 22nd and where, well thats easy ... Somewhere in Australia as its to expensive to cross the ditch....
-
Realistically i think that it'll be in Vic or NSW ( Canberra cow paddock inclusive ).
While Toowoomba was great to catch up with everyone old and new, i do miss plotting a course to see unvisited places along the way to satisfy my wanderlust on the trip to the Rally destination.
If it was up to me it'd be in Tassy or the Vic/Nsw high country.
I do like the idea of a tribute to Terry as i have good memories of riding with him in those regions.
-
Rightio. National Rally will be held in Peterborough, SA. 20-22 March. Fully confirmed. Put in your leave and pack your bags.
Unless its somewhere else......

Lots of interesting ideas, not sure if they've all be really thought through re. practicability for a successful NatRally.

After a few days sharing with Williamson & Nigel on the way back from Toowoomba, cosy can work :crackup

Providing Nigel leaves his chainsaw at home.

Anyways, back on topic. Helen and I, and nine of the kids & grandkids currently holidaying in Robe SA, what a lovely spot this is, just perfect for a NatRally. In fact it's so nice, if SA don't want to have a NatRally here, I'll be suggesting that next time it's VIC's turn to host a NatRally, we'll organise it here.
At least three caravan parks, two pubs, two bakeries, countless coffee shops, beautiful village atmosphere, lots of history, great weather.
Here's some sample pics.
-
Wot, no pic of the pubs or bakeries??? :well
-
The Robe pub had the best schnitzel I've had at an RTE. That was the night before I attended your Lorne RTE in 2019.
-
Port Broughton seems nice.

Haven’t visited either yet.

Best schnitzel was Wednesday night at Nelson VIC, lightly spicy crumbed chicken, topped with six prawns in a creamy garlic sauce. At $38, not cheap but I already know what I’m having next visit.

Rally announced……
Our closest to Pin was JDbiker…….and when I say closest he smashed it !!

I hope that Sutton has some decent beer for JD to fill his stubby cooler with :beer :rofl

All my good work and effort may not necessarily have been in vain, if our SA colleagues have taken notice for 2027 or 2028, whenever.

That's true Mike.
We like to keep members' interest spiked and also respect and appreciate states whom show an interest in furthering our journey to keep the Club streaming ahead.
