Many, many calls & messages from Russell, Jonathan and me to Kev have not been answered. I emailed VicPol at Portland for a welfare check, received a response saying he’s okay.
That was in October, I've emailed VicPol again.

Mr MURPHY does not reside in Portland any longer.
Apart from the obvious, ie. Kev has moved from Portland, I hope it does not mean worse. Don't suppose there is any way of finding out anything definite either way.

Yeah, but that assumes the worst case scenario.
From a quick look at the BDM.vic.gov.au website it seems that there is not a public register of deaths, you need to apply for a death certificate, to do that you need to be eligible to apply, ie. a family member (ie. we ain't eligible), and then go through a few hoops and over a few hurdles, as well as pay a fee. And then wait a coupla weeks.
In the meantime, I hope Kev isn't reading these posts - although if he his, I expect a prompt, and not very complimentary post from him.
Come on Kev, get stuck into us callous, insensitive, morbid bastards.

I think the strawberry farm changed owners and that's why Kev stopped servicing their computers and why his supply of strawberries stopped.
So chances are they wouldn't really know him but I guess we have nothing to lose by showing them a photo...

It's 2/70 Hurd St, Portland.
Even if he's not in Portland anymore it might be worth calling around to talk to his neighbours.
He was pretty thick with the one opposite his Unit.
Also might be worth talking to the local motorcycle shop as he was on really friendly terms with the owner.
Probably worth asking at the Woolworths Supermarket next door as well as he was very well known there.
Fingers crossed we can get some answers... :X

Last time I remember Kev riding to an RTE was Ararat June 2023.

I contacted the local bike shop and, as far as he knows, Kev is in Melbourne.
He did say more but I won't go into details here...

It's been a while since I spoke with Kev. Just rang, and went to the message bank straight away. Not surprised!
Not sure what the next step should be, privacy laws blah blah blah.
I read, thats its possible he`s in Melbourne atm.

Yes, that's one version we've heard, and there's another version which I making enquiries about, probably won't hear anything until mid-week, and whether I hear anything worthwhile (due to privacy requirements) is another matter.

He had an ancient laptop that he was able to use but, unfortunately he'd lost his passwords with the demise of his computer so was
unable to access the forum.
I contacted Brock on his behalf and he was able to reset Kev's password...

Responses to my emails seem to indicate that Kev is safe and under the care of the state. Apart from an address to write to him and a hint re. his location, privacy provisions restrict any other information being provided.
Russell and I have exchanged messages re. writing to him and perhaps a visit. The latter might depend on whether or not he wants a visit.
More info may be provided, but only on Kev's okay.

From the info I received, I'm presuming he's in Melbourne. I've messaged him through his carers, asked if he wants any visitors or any other support.
I'll provide more info if / when I get a response, and if he's happy for any info to be passed on.

No further info as yet.
I wrote a letter (as requested), attached it to an email, return email advised that letter must be sent via Australia Post*, sent letter via registered mail, no response - as yet.
* Effing bureaucratic government departments!!!!
